  1. watch the begining of this video, my rear end bounces when putting into drive , this is amplified by the rwd/ 4wd conversion as there is more torque going to the rear axle
  2. So just put a driver to raise the voltage to 12 v for the solidstate relay . Your talking a 40 cent part just do it.
  3. and i think the ecm is a low side driver not a high side ,, not sure tho.
  4. Yea thats all it is . You can also just ground the negative of the pump and the pump Will just run at full speed all the time.
  5. Off topic please post in the tuning formus for such questions .
  6. if its not seated -1 it may leak oil 2- be visible further out than the other side.
  7. the p0600 code can be disabled by a open source tune. i would think there is a certain threshold of bad messages that trigger the cel to come on. if you disable that code then it wont come back, and due to the age of the car and everything else working correctly i would consider this.
  8. could be defect in the axles where part of the tri pot is twisting under load and going out of balance .. double check the axles are seated all the way in ,, if there is a oil leak it would mean its not sitting properly
  9. I dont think torque converter, Does it do it during shifts? Or while pulling through the gears? Or both ?
  10. Well if it does use the built in code reader. Seems the coolant temp sensor / curcuit is a problem.
  11. The temp gauge does not peg as part of check engine . The temp gauge pegs full hot when the the car is either overheated or open cicuit on fhe temp sensor. When open circuit on the temp sensor the check engine light will come on. Also keep in mind the legacys have built in code reader so you dont need to buy an expensive code reader.
  12. cant believe people are so embarrassed to have 5 eats these days and saying "its my friend's"
  13. 05-06 are different I dont know if the tcu plugs in. Only differences are the speed sensors What error code are you getting ? Somethin speed sensor?
  14. if you have 5 mt binding issues and knocking when turning your center diff is toast. its the viscous coupling, and it has its own special fluid inside. you cannot get new fluid. for a friend i took the center diff out and removed that fluid and all the insides of the viscous coupling , so its just open center diff, as it was old 96 legacy beater and he didn't want to spend money on it. if you want to fix it you need new center diff. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/2001-5-mt-legacy-center-diff-binding-very-badly-208004.html but try to post in the correct forum pages this page is for automatic trans specifically.
  15. The trans mission is electronic it doesnt shift by its self what so ever. The tcu activates the solonoids in different sequence for each gear. But the trans has output soeed sensors for front and rear . They are before the diffs tho. So theoritically the tcu would be fine with a diff swap. The speedo inside the car uses both the trans output speed sensors and the abs sensors. When my output speed sensors broke the speedo was still working but to a slightly different value. You could just try setting the speed tables as suggested already. Or you could even put them to zero and see what that does i wouldn't think the ecm would even care. But that test would give us valueable info. But im sure there are a lot of differences between 05 and 2013 models
  16. The tcm chooses gear and such the ecm just wants to know what gear its in The txm also talks to the ecm , so i think the gear speed tables are only used on mt cars
  17. well that is just for the per gear boost control, the ecm wont set a error saying wrong gear ratio, the tcu may say speed mismatch or something similar.
  18. well even the abs is reporting speed back to the ecm. the gear tables in the ecm is just so the ecm knows what gear the manual box is in from my understanding.
  19. if you want to go aftermarket mega squirt and mega shift you golden. but thats a major commitment.
  20. Yea ring and pinion is the easy part. Its the freaking out tcu/ bcm / ecm after the fact that is the hard part
  21. i use the cheapest aft oil i can find and haven't has any problems. other than stripping center diffs and rear diff from too much torque.
  22. I got another 05 wagon and some one has "fixed " the wires in the hinge . The sliced upon the rubber accordion and wrapped stuff with tape lol But the rear wiper stops in random places
