  1. Nope it's why the gt is faster than the h6. The gt actually has more low end and mid range torque . The gt has lag but once the turbo catches up it has more power everywhere
  2. Lol I have done way worse than you ! I built boost until the ecu got power down signal from the tcu. Brake boosting or even trans brake are commonly used . And I haven't really herd of any specific issues to the 5 eat converter. If there was I'd surly be having them !
  3. Stall test should not harm any clutch. It's bad for the torque converter. On my sunbird I bent all the vanes inside. It was about 5000 rpm stall at the end and worked great !
  4. Only because the turbo motor makes more torque at the lower rpm! It's probably the same torque converter
  5. have you ever had the trans so hot that it disabled manual shifting and forced on tcc always?
  6. well get the tcu reset. you can do it your self with a vag comm cable (15usd$). and a program called free ssm
  7. from my experience the tcc is hydraulically not available in first and 2nd. as its a limp home mode in case of electric or mechanical issue with the tcc solonoid. i'm sure that can be bypassed but it would need to be figured out. but 3rd should have enough torque to pull most things with the tcc engaged.
  8. i would just put in a used tranny and hex mod valve body .. used tranny is like 1 k . and i dont believe ipt actually does any magic to it.
  9. In most cases the tranny doesn't make much heat if any. The only time the tranny would get hot is when the tCC is not engaged. So mild grades where the car is in 3rd or higher. I don't feel the car needs a cooler either. Although it doesn't hurt to have one.
  10. so change atf fluid. be sure to keep in mind that subaru automatic trans missions have 2 dipsticks for fluid measurement. the left side witch is difficult to see is for the automatic transmission fluid. the one on the right side is for the differential witch is gear oil. it wouldn't be the first time this was mixed !
  11. ^ well the valve body is what controls the fluid. so likely something sticking or worn. if your car completely stock ? a good place to start is checking / changing the fluid. and possibly reseting the learning for the trans mission. normally when you drive slowly it should learn to correct the issues you speak of unless there is something worn or broken. but hard shifting is actually good for the life of the trans mission if in fact its what its doing.
  12. does it do this all the time ? or only when cold ?
  13. the ground wire only needs to be 3" long. you can attach it to one of the rubber isolated mounting screws. on the wiper assembly its self.
  14. Mine would not work at low temps also over a year after adding the ground So I replaced it with a jobber I find the wipers on both of my 05 legacys to be very strong.
  15. dunno why .. but just touching a screw driver from its mount to ground should be enough to see if it works..
  16. how its controled stock .. its actively engaging based on throttle input and speed. it passively adjusts if there is a big difference ie your stuck. how my car acts is the car wants to oversteer if it does kick out the back and i'm spining it engages the front to bring it back.
  17. ^ i have another stock rear diff again .. but the center diff is removed. 100% goes to the rear with the clutches sending power to the front on demand like the gtr and the reverse of a 4 eat. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1lw7EHm7Ig]Buckaru rwd / 4wd - YouTube[/ame]
  18. all the 05 5 eats had lsd rear diffs i think 06 also. and all outbacks have lsd rear diffs and yes you can install a switch for the center diff as you said. might need a resistor to prevent the tcu from setting a code.
