  1. I have a Mainer car buddy in the Audi scene who is nuts about his cars. I'll reach out to see what his body shops of choice are. As a warning, all good body shops seem to be very busy right now. My shop of choice when my allroad got hit said they wouldn't be able to touch my car for over 2 months.
  2. There is, a bit. It's just not local to me at the moment, and I'm slightly concerned getting it back to full health is a long and somewhat expensive road. But i guess i won't know until i start looking into it. Sorta have something lined up to replace the allroad, but it's a bit over a month until I would be able to get it if I do...
  3. yeah. it's been sitting forever. motor fires up right away with a jump-start and sounds fine, but the brake line ruptured part way down the frame rail on the passenger side (not by the wheel) so it's currently immobile. letting a great build go to waste. my goal had been get a place with enough space that i could tinker on it with the allroad as my DD, but life just never went that way (things changed in life, covid hit, moved overseas for the better part of 2 years, etc.), so it's been sitting mostly parked for a while now, getting started and driven by my dad every now and then, but that slowly turned into just getting started. i don't blame him, it's just another chore. should've sold it a while back but was never around.
  4. looks fantastic. i always wanted to white on black with mine, but never did. otherwise... i wish i had kept the LGT in better condition. my allroad has been totaled. what was a minor, slow speed accident added up to a ton of damage. got hit directly in the front driver's wheel.
  5. Wait... do you have BBS center caps? I looked quickly and it kinda looked like it. Here's some real CH-Rs on my wagon for my mistake :
  6. Yeah, this would probably be the most fruitful path. I reached out to a local Subaru performance shop to start. I have no pressing deadline on getting rid of it, but i do want to move it sooner than later
  7. Yes, I'm aware that mods do not increase value of the car and know that the sale will be at a loss to the money spent on mods. Nine years of the mod grind and living on this site taught me that very well . The whole point of including the list was for informational purposes and the fact that an enthusiast will look at the car differently than a dealer or "blue book" value (plus a nice trip down memory lane). I came here, to the one place on the internet where people still care about and think about these cars, to get a rough estimate of the value of the car while being completely up front about its history and current state. You have provided your estimate, so thank you. It's higher than what I was predicting, but you're including fixing all of the issues. I want to get rid of it as-is so I know I'll get much less.
  8. Thanks, Rick. Yeah... I wish the circumstances were different and i could just hold it, but it's just going to decay and I'd rather get something out of it / have someone make use of it than let it just completely fall off. I'm hoping for a couple $k, but not sure if it's likely
  9. hello past LGT kin. i added some fluids to the 4th gen and started trying to sort it out to sell it. it's been a while since i've been here. for a bunch of various reasons (some valid and some not), the LGT has basically been sitting for a while. it still starts, still seems to run fine, but it's time for it to go. main issue right now is while sitting the brake line that runs down the passenger side has given way (found fluid leaking under the rear passenger side door) so it's not able to be moved. general question, and feel free to tell me to bug off... but what are the value of these things these days? there's probably about 55k on the rebuilt engine and i think around 175k on the overall body, but i had a ton done to it over the years. i've attached my build sheet, it put down 311whp/333wtq on a mustang dyno, and i've attached the full list of mods i've ever done to it. not in the list mods is that the valve body for the 5EAT was modified by ClimberD (HexMods). Known issues with the car: The A/C doesn't work The seats in the interior are in the shape of a car from 2005, except the driver's side seat has a pretty good tear in the bolster. However, the entire carpet was replaced with black carpet when I had the car rebuilt in 2014 A wire is snipped on the Grimmspeed EBCS causing a CEL and limited boost, but I have a replacement EBCS on hand I just never installed The rear driver's side door handle needs to be painted. There was a failure of the mechanism and I had it replaced, but the shop that replaced it wouldn't work with me to get it painted The battery is toast but it jumps and runs when needed (I started it to test the brakes) The car was PDR'd in 2014 and the exterior is in pretty good shape. The front bumper (JDM) could use a respray and it's got that typical fourth gen rust in front of the driver's side wheel well. I also have a ton of the stock parts hanging around and even some BNIB performance parts. Anyone want to give a swag at what I could get for it? It's still in my possession since buying my Audi in 2017 because I wanted to move into a situation where I could garage the LGT and tinker with it, but life has just not gone in that direction. Honestly it probably needs some more work besides the brakes and the list above (tires, the wheels are in rough shape) so I'm not expecting top dollar. I hope you all are well. It's good to see some familiar names still active in here. Build Sheet - Rev.05.pdf parts_list_pdf.pdf
  10. Yeah that's actually a good one. I guess another would be is the possibility of integrating this with GPS data for other commercial applications.
  11. 50cm x 50cm is probably what the government is allowing to be sold commercially. I'm not sure why anyone would need this in a commercial application unless they're just "monitoring" their competitors. Resolution is mainly a function of signal bandwidth. They say they're running 500 MHz and their press release mentions future generations already having up to 1.2 GHz which effectively halfs the resolution. Still kinda nuts that they can get that detailed of an image from space in a commercial application.
  12. About tree fiddy ...couldn't help myself. Sounds like an awesome setup. Maybe look at what the "book" value of the car is and add on market rarity and some percentage (20%? 30%?) of what you spent on mods? I wish I was in a position where I could buy it. I already have a built LGT sitting and collecting dust (not in nearly as good of shape as yours, I'm sure)... can't add another one to the pile
  13. is that model predicting andromeda and milky way galaxies will merge in 6 billion years?
  14. I have a Thule Motion XT Alpine. It's not that tall but long for skis. The lock and latch system doesn't hang up and it can be opened from both sides. I happened to get it 40% off using a Thule pro deal. Now that I think about it, I think my pro deal is about to expire... gonna go look at what they have to offer.
  15. Glad to hear it's still around! Yeah, that's my feeling whenever I see the LGT again, too. Can't escape the history!
  16. Hiya Rick! Argh, it pains me but it stays most of its time parked at my parents' place in RI. It gets some drives but not as much as it needs. I have concerns about it aging poorly while sitting most of the time. Still pulls like a champ, though. When I eventually own a place where I can park multiple cars, I'll bring it back in and start to use it as a little project car just to play around with for my own learning / tinkering. I drive a 2015 Audi allroad as my daily now. Loving it... beautiful wagon with some wheels and lowered and the 2.0T has some power. It was supposed to be all show no go, but my local buddy dropped a V8 from an RS5 into his same generation allroad and sold me his K04 turbo upgrade with the intercooler and high flow cat, so here I am now around 330whp on pump ... but, they're stout motors and are supposed to be pretty reliable even with this moderate power increase. I'm hoping you're still driving that gorgeous red beast!
  17. I've forgot how to tell the difference... is that JDM or facelift USDM? I think JDM?
  18. Can't use cylinder 4. It won't have enough compression to make the espresso... ...I'll see myself out.
  19. At the very least you want all seasons, and something good like a Conti DWS06. This is basically the start of winter for most of the country that gets snow (we just got like 4 to 6 inches in MA last Friday). Personally, I'd probably go snows to be on the safer side. It'll be a squishier ride but worth it for the peace of mind. I've been hit by some very sudden storms out there that end up being huge.
