  1. That's what I was hoping even with the better grip angle. Folks say I need about 800 rounds for it to be prefect. At this rate I will wear my Wiley-W to keep the brass out of my face. Might have a cool scar to brag about, time will tell. Truthfully I was happy it was firing and ejection this last trip. Since the trigger group doesn't like to be modified I'm possibly just going to go full drop in trigger group and the ejector will pretty much be apart of it. There was another group saying the extractor could also have a role in it not releasing right. Same slide on G17 and it's doing as it should.
  2. Yeah P80 "BKA" PF940. I'm not sure what happened either, it took me lots of trouble shooting to figure out it was the connector. I drop it in the G17 and it's running flawlessly. Trigger reset feels and sounds the same but won't drop the striker. The tolerances on the P80 are tighter than a stock G17 so I would assume it could be the frame or the slide is of by just a hair to piss it off. I've been debating on eventually going V2 with metal rear rails and try again. The ejector on this group also ejects casings to the left causing them to launch at my forehead. Eventually 1 got stuck behind my glasses and left a nice burn under my eye. Firing single shot no mg the ejection is the mag well no matter how I hold it. I'm gonna run a dremel to the inside of the locking block and see if the spring is binding up on return for a split second.
  3. My P80 build would only fire out of battery with the Double Diamond connector installed. Last night I tried using it again and ended up taking the back plate and striker out to get the slide back off. This gun wants a whole drop in trigger or nothing at all. DD 3.5 lb connector went back into my actual G17 and polished OEM connector back into the P80. I'm not against press checks but from having 2 LCI Glocks (G17 and G22) I just relied on the LCI feel and the fact you can see the brass from the side of the gun. My 1911 and the S&W hole in the chamber is only useful in good light so it's possible for me to press check it and I like the front fish scales for that reason. As for the cuts, I see it from both sides of the fence especially when you start tossing in stronger heavier guide rods and RMRs. Some people say get the maritime spring cups and others say don't if I' don't plan on a fishing trip with my gun. Fe me and my build, I'll most likely have a non cut slide with front serrations and no RMR in the event I do carry it. My P80 build started off to try and bee like all the crazy Agency/Salient/Zev/GS/Wheaten/Norsso/Lone Wolf builds. Now I'm just trying to get reliability out of it and stock seems to be it. Stock Glock rails allow you to assemble the slide over the rear rails where the clearance on this build won't. The P80 lower tolerances are way tighter to the point I don't thing I could withstand light sand on the rails and still work like a Glock. My wish list would simply be at this time Stipple the P80 and laser the Glock like this here. Pattern I'm still debating for both.
  4. LOL! Most the new forums shrink them almost instantly but here takes forever. I'll probably go back a few pages and IMG thumb them before the $300 shaft happens. How is your post per page count set? I'm 6 or so posts into the next page already. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_467EBFF0-F434-4FE9-9A24-54FCFC72D547_zpso1ihkevd.jpg The little guy finally made it to the display at even a price higher than I got it from them originally. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_4E32894B-D44B-422E-BCB7-E0D8FDBF2ADE_zpspxjnkenk.jpg
  5. I thought Armalite Rifle is what it stood for. Either way, the way folks are doing home invasions a simple 10 round 9mm pistol is a losing battle. With all the looting taking place during the current crisis you also lose in a 10 round 9mm pistol situation. With a shotgun you got 00 but you have to maneuver the long gun around tight spaces since Shockwaves and Tac-14's aren't "Shotguns" but state level laws still ban them as if it were NFA items. I went from 26" to 18" on my 870 express and tho it made a drastic difference when I practiced clearing my house, there is still some choke points where I can't effectively swing around and not be completely off target. AR vs shotgun, you can trust your s/o to be able to handle recoil vs telling them "Place the buttstock against this wall and shoot it in that direction" hoping they hit something. Full auto/ 3 round burst has it's role but it's hard to justify it where I live. Even without a gust of wind I could stand inside the lower level of my house and pee on my neighbors house. At that point I could reasonably see it being highly frowned upon. You live out in the sticks and you really have to wait an eternity for the sheriffs to get to you then your papers should go through the system a bit quicker. At that point your unaccounted rounds off target for a moving target should not jeopardise an entire city block. Lots of folks in this thread have gone through multiple training situations so you clearly understand that you shouldn't be doing a IV8888 meltdown test fire in a highly populated area to hit 1 assailant. End of the day, you also have to enforce laws already on the books and not just create a ton more to the point everyone is in violation just by simply waking up the next morning. That isn't making the country safer, you just turned the average joe into a criminal. As much money folks have "Legally" invested in their gun collection I could see why folks who passively turned into criminals overnight actively stay criminals. I was watching a gun buy back video the other day where folks literally turned in guns for target gift cards because they felt safer w/o them even tho they had been held up at gunpoint and/or had their home invaded repeatedly.
  6. So for us true to OEM spec 05, half the car is still taken apart to get behind the dash? How hard is it to find the clips as I foresee them being damaged on mine. My dash and just about the whole interior is on it's 3rd SWP LGT.
  7. No, don't have anything that small. I'll have to look into something like that so I wouldn't have to walk around looking like Nut'n Fancy with an operator fanny pack. Yeah sad part with that is there is few folks in Ohio who got and still being sold Shockwaves and Tac-14's and they can't legally take them to a range to shoot them. Hell even Texas is about to make them legal soon but no word for us. Point Blank in other states had them on sale for like $330 or so but here we were shafted. In other news I ran out of time at the range and only made it though all but 1 mag. Needed to trim some more on the rear rails so it would return to battery and snag the next round. I ended up just going single shot and then used the regular lower to finish off the 33 round mag. That connector is a worthwhile upgrade especially how cheap it was. Also went back and took both trigger groups out and polished the trigger bars, stock connector and the safety plunger. Will see how it runs next month.
  8. Yeah some fights are too big for just a handful of folks trying to plug holes in a submarine. That whole not modifying it parts sucks. I literally had to undo my Double Diamond connector in the PF build and toss it into my G17 as the group and bar didn't like it and wouldn't fire the gun reliably. Rate of fire was 3 rounds per 45 mins. Hopefully today we can beat that by a lot! Going to go fire this in a few with the OEM 33 round mag(31 +2 base plate) 4 OEM 17 round G17 mags(Not pictured) and a 17 round ETS G17 mag. I plan on grabbing the ETS 31 and adding the OEM +2 base to it. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_C9E086D8-232E-4D9D-B096-783592C96DDD_zpshbvat5ze.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_C9E086D8-232E-4D9D-B096-783592C96DDD_zpshbvat5ze.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_DD73D875-CC06-49D5-907F-F27848F875EA_zpsatps2cmg.jpg A wee bit late but I posted a pocket dump last weekend on my road trip. 2 wallets balances out the load if I'm not wearing cargo pants and the ability to shed down to bare essentials in a second. ETS is running the +P Critical Duty and the 2 OEM is HST http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_F58567D4-4524-406E-95ED-9CD6D93FA77D_zpswlela8gn.jpg
  9. Yeah, that sounds like a not so fun place to live if you remotely like your rights even beyond gun ownership unless you are the lawmakers.
  10. LOL NOPE, CHL still getting 5 day waits on pistols. Shotgun seemed to be "Easier than buying a book" so I take it the pistol process is more strict. No, I'm on another CCW forum but lost track of which one it is. Cuyahouga site seemed to have more info on the laws than Lake and the other surrounding counties.
  11. Of all the folks I came across in my gun journeys, I have yet found a person with a Cuyahoga County issued CHL. They all to include mine say Lake. Concealed, yes. Open carry nope so long as you only walk everywhere. Stripping butt naked and hanging a pistol from your neck using the lanyard loop or trigger guard is still considered concealed carry once you enter a vehicle or mount a bike. I haven't looked into it enough but I assume horseback also constitutes concealed. Even the lowers with the plate where you can make them serialized? I guess that would be a no since Gen 4 and 5 Glocks aren't allowed still? Were you at least grandfathered in for the stuff you already completed?
  12. To think my 80% lower with no way to serialize came from Cali. Besides the guns and traffic situation, I'm sure there are better reasons to stay out that way? Postcards and YouTube videos make it look nice out there. My experience with Cali was the airport and that's about it. There was a guy on the Glock Nation FB group who did get approved for his CCW. Looks to be out of Modesto Cali area from the screen shot. He says it depends on where you live county wise, here I had to use the county next door for my issuance.
  13. Finished, Kinda Sorta... http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_6D8D137E-A425-43E2-A5D7-618BED9A8E5F_zps4ogatqyz.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_DFD1F7A8-B68F-49BB-A593-5175BA73BC43_zpsatjmo1o3.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_DE745D79-31BD-4CFA-A609-3E9A8F23FA77_zpswws6b2x3.jpg I was able to snag a brand new Gen 3 for a nice price. I'll slowly buy a dedicated upper for it over time but for now I completed project vs leaving it strung along like this Legacy has been. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_EA45F637-2455-4BE7-8F3A-F4DD9DA5C71A_zpsiznu67vk.jpg Had a few issues here and there like watching a video where they showed the take down go in backwards and doing just that. Fixed that after a bit of struggling with battery and take down. Last issue was in battery but not firing. The trigger group didn't like the Double Diamond connector so it went into the 17 for the time being. Tolerances are super tight so I don't expect this to be Glock torture test worthy at the moment. Even the pins are super tight compared to the new out the box G17. I will say the build has me wanting to install an extended slide release and a mag well to the G17. I'll resist for the time being so I'm not building 2 guns side by side. I still had a few things I wanted to do with the 870.
  14. Almost 2 months makes it 10.
  15. Seems to be the theme with this car. Buy tools the 1st time or buy the part again with the right tools this next go around.
  16. 2 regular Glock and an ETS mag. All fit perfectly vs some reviews claiming they don't. Same reviews also complained about the mag spring but I had to adjust it a little bit. Same reviews complained how they broke the plastic locking block pin when the plastic pin was really for the trigger group in the back of the grip. The actual extended mag release didn't need to be filed down as I was thinking it needed to be. The ETS mags actually fit better and have an audible click when seated. The folks who had the spring too far down the frame would have their mags eject when firing. I just about did everything but throw it at the wall, those mags are in there securely. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_45E067E4-D86A-45D8-BD86-74520DE877A1_zps3grarggw.jpg
  17. Lower done, only added the Double Diamond connector. Pardon the iPhone on it's last leg photos. Holding out for that 8 whenever it comes out. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_11C64E0B-C241-4166-9955-3DFB04089EBE_zpswswxzbos.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_FF05666D-8E04-48E1-AF01-43BE81469B45_zpsxvrf8mri.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_7B6BEC20-76F0-4A44-B27D-9AEB94DF3B20_zpsoxeybqho.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_BD0FECAF-396D-4773-80EF-B58979043122_zpssjpsnv8w.jpg
  18. I wish I didn't hesitate when this thread happened. I ordered a set and had them get cancelled after they figured out the price issue. Since I already had my mind fixed on them I ended yup getting them anyways for less at Rock Auto.
  19. I'm under the impression that this gun was also designed for duty ammo. This guy shot casings at my mouth and chin using the range ammo. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_47A16FF7-156F-46CF-8F56-C2699C41470C_zpswf5j5ewx.jpg Besides that, seem to be getting better with slugs and 18" barrel over the 26" barrel. I wonder if rifled choke would make it better. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_FEEACC47-C74A-4A38-9CCF-4DA48FFB3C41_zpsug6jsekn.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_34DAC0B8-D767-42B2-8C8E-F915E576AC6B_zpsa6idtugs.jpg In other news I have more parts on the way for the lower and pretty much got it where I want it minus the rear rails. Looks more like it's going to be a 17 build. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_B86C3095-9FE8-4445-9ED1-3F2B218AC62F_zpsf7l3d7ik.jpg While I was there I also saw my gun in all black vs the two tone. After seeing it in person, I'm glad I went this route over all black. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/th_1ED92FD7-44C6-469A-94E3-85CAEC6BE32B_zpsjfhvj1ho.jpg I also fixed a gun to the point I'm confident the next owner can use it w/o issues I had from the beginning and let it go. Not sure if you guys remember why I even got the SCCY CPX-2. Last year my nephew had his in his possession when he was killed. He died trying to get it out of his locked glove box hours after the CAVS won the championship. The original gun is gone but I was able to find one like it from the exact same store. Part of my closure was to see if he could at least return fire had he been able to get it. From going though his belongings and receipts, the gun was brand new and only had about 11 rounds fired though it. Not sure what I want in place of it yet.
  20. What was the rule on that, like a fingernail catches it you done effed up A-A-ron? Here is mine for example.... http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/LGT/th_95CEDB98-1FF1-4B60-BF45-8C1514718286_zpstf8peuda.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/LGT/th_29932E38-3D05-42FE-9CE9-8E93089755AE_zpscmhsgpcl.jpg
  21. You are in the south so you haven't seen the road salt mine has seen. I'm at the point of maybe just having a shop do it since it looks horrible under there.
  22. Yeah my odds were horrible as well. Before I owned a Subaru I just knew turning the key and having gas in the tank is how it runs. A little over a year or 2 I found out how the insides work, or stop working.
  23. At 1st I assumed "little one" was the G19/G23 and not your child. LOL yeah too soon for me still and their mom is totally not on board. Part of me wants to just find a rough shape pawned Gen 3 but the whole point of the build is bottom up. Rough shape Gen 3 would so be cheaper than the build sheet I keep drawing up and scrapping.
  24. Yep, took shortcuts and paid for it. Trying to rush the car back on the road doesn't work out well in the end unless you are the PNW folks here who seem pull at least 1 engine a weekend. I semi wish lived that way but I like my gun rights. Most folks this way are buyers and not builders.
  25. Thanks, I will send you a PM in a few. It's a Gen 3 and under slide? Gen 4 is too wide at the front.
