  1. honestly the first "retrofit" style bbk i've done before so it's a little weird but very similar to just bolting on a BBK that requires a bracket (like the 05+ STI rear brembos) I'll "correct" a few things that are stopping people from seeing the bigger picture of this inexpensive modification. The guy that posted that kit above sold it for under $600 which is damn cheap! further, no required rear setup due to the way the brake bias is required but a lot of people will opt to change the rear for ascetics really. I'm trying to help the community as much as i can without spoon feeding really. though i feel that unless I do, the LGT community won't fully embrace it. LOL Anyway, stick around and I'll do what I can to help get people on board with this. I think there are a few other people that purchased this so with my "mistakes" others won't make them and we can move forward faster. I'm not the youtuber type so i won't be making a video tutorial but the instructions that you can download from their website is pretty straight forward.
  2. I hear you on this... I use a power pressure bleeder so the air is just pushed out anyway. Ive bled both with the power bleeder and then the manual way with two people. There is no air in the caliper. But... I will also spin the caliper around so that can be a non-issue when I post pictures. I can't tell if the small things that are being pointed out or actually to help the cause or hurt the cause. When I said it didn't matter much… I was referring to how it physically mounts than pressure. It has about inch or just under an inch from the rotor top hat so I thought the concern was to make sure that the pad itself is being fully utilized on the rotor. EDIT: stupid Siri
  3. I don't think it'll matter much since the housing is symmetrical. but ok I'll look into that as well.
  4. i used to run 17s all the time actually like the 18s on the LGT.
  5. 245/40 i'm trying to stay on topic here. no offense but wheel and tire specs don't really have to do with this mod. as long as you're 18s you should be good. on a side note though. i'm in contact with CTSV and i've gotta double check a few things to confirm before proceeding. there might be some pad overhanging at the moment unfortunately and though it's minor that may be a problem. i'm hopeful that CTSV will correct for this
  6. 13 x 13 x 3.5 inches is the rotor size according to power slot wheels are 18x9.5
  7. i understand what you mean. this used to be a "problem" with wilwood bbk for the bugeye back in the day. not enough towards the inside. i believe the pad is making contact with the rotor fully. ill contact CTSV and see what they say. Don't get me wrong. i'd prefer a matched brembo setup for the car but given the price tag. I couldn't turn it down. it functions similarly to my STI brembo setup on my STI so i cannot complain here either.
  8. No worries. This was a test for pic and is being held on with zip ties [emoji23] I'll get updated pics later today.
  9. Hmm. Maybe the pic I posted is when the bracket was flipped upside down. I'll get updated ones later today.
  10. 18s are a good idea. I'm using 18s right now. Unless the 17s have a thin inner barrel you'll need 18s. I also mentioned earlier the stock LGT wheels will not fit. These are 18s. Look how close it is to the inner barrel. No way STI BBS or similar 17s will fit. The upgraded/larger STI rotors that are required barely fit the stock 17s So basically you want a detailed DIY tutorial or YouTube video to show you the whole process? On their FB page, someone mentioned that you CANNOT use STI BBS wheels without modifying either the caliper or wheels inner barrel. Neither is safe. Both materials and what's involved with the install can be had through CTSVs install guide.
  11. No. Top hole on the knuckle. Didn't say control arm anywhere. No it doesn't either. The hole just gets bigger to accommodate a bigger bolt for the top. You can go back if you need to
  12. interesting... which rear trunk spoiler is this? is it held on only by double stick tape?
  13. not sure i know how to answer this question or whats actually being asked here. it's a significant upgrade up front to the braking system. YES, it feels different. it's 4 pistons vs 2 pistons and a lot larger rotor thats vented. I did upgrade my lines prior and also have a MBC bracket so my brake feel may not be the same as your stock. Have you driven a car with a BBK before? honestly the LGT front brakes are pretty decent. but being able to stop better is a bonus for me. not that i'm going to be romping round and such. Further, given the price of this upgrade... It's well worth it in my opinion
  14. The caliper is in a similar position. As the STI brembo when mounted. So far braking feels pretty balanced with the stock rears. I may decide to put a STI brembo rear or Subaru 2 pot (JDM or USDM). we will see
  15. No cutting of dust shield. Just remove it. Dust shield doesn't prevent or keep dust from accumulating on your wheels. It also helps little rocks get stuck between your rotor and dust shield. You'd need to cut down all the way to the hub since the larger and thicker STI Rotor will make direct contact. Drilling is required for you to be able to fit the larger M14x2.0 bolt the caliper needs to mount. The bracket just allows you to use the brake caliper since the mounting holes on our hubs are wider. Here's the knuckle without the wheel bearing cartridge or wheel hub installed. You do NOT need to remove the axle to remove the hub bearing cartridge. I would recommend removing the ABS sensor though. Tie rod end is NOT required to be removed either.
  16. Hub spacer to rotor (included) Passenger side bracket No dust shield Top hole drilled out for larger bolt (included bolt) Bottom stock size will fit 12x1.25x60 bolt if you go from out to in (purchased separately) Don't mind the axle nut it got replaced Don't mind that the bracket is installed upside down in this shot LOL.
  17. The housing of the ATS IS larger than the STI Brembo setup. Idk if it's just the housing or the actual internals are bigger. So far I kind of like them on the LGT. they're made by brembo so I'd imagine their quality is the same even though it's for a Cadillac. The kit comes with a tap for the bottom mounting hole for the bracket. I decided not to tap it but use a 12x1.25 x 60 (didn't have 55) 8.8 grade bolt and nylon lock nut. You will Need to drill the top hole to 9/16" to allow for the larger bolt to caliper if you install it. Dust shield is mandatory to come off.
  18. the calipers are pretty beefy. Kind of looks bigger than the USDM/JDM BREMBO set.
  19. Use the same lines for your legacy. You need USDM STI BREMBO sized rotors. There's pretty simple instructions. Dust shield needs to be removed so pulling the front hub bearing is required (4 bolts like USDM 05 STI). There's a bracket you buy and either you can drill/tap the hole on the bottom or use a nut/bolt combo. If you've done a brake job and axle job before you can most definitely do this install.
  20. It's sitting in my garage for a while now. Had to take the LGT in for service so kept the stock stuff on (stupid air bag thing) It'll be going on probably this week. It doesn't fit under stock LGT 17x7 wheels Honestly super cheap for a BREMBO setup. I'm in Hawaii so while most of you guys get free shipping I pay $$$ I've even toyed with the notion to put it on my STI and take my STI brembos and put it on the LGT. this is an 05 LGT BTW
