StringFellow
AVO, cleanable, no oil to fowl your MAF. Just washed mine today Where did you get your AVO filter? Compared to the OEM paper, how does it look in terms of number and thickness of pleats? Is the AVO panel a Subaru part? -S

DonnyJagaru
I'm gonna design a gadget to measure how low of pressure between the filter and intake manifold to determine how badly fowled the air cleaner is. Then I'll be rich. Paper filter here. There's an article online demonstrating just how poor of value reusable filters are in terms of airflow and performance. paul7ro
To me, aftermarket air filters are pretty much the same in terms of functionality so just get the cheapest one.
DonnyJagaru
Maybe its where I live, but air filters last an awfully long time around Toronto. In my experience K&N, and I suppose any "wet" style filter, is much more prone to clog throttle bodies and MAF sensors. Hence, I've been using paper ones for the last 15 years with no issues. Soarin
I have an AEM DryFlow and zero problems with oil gumming up the MAF. You will have to take half of the airbox out to install or clean it. And clean the MAF while you're there.
Max Capacity
Been using a Perrin in my wagon until about 2 years ago when it was 10 years old and looked a little aged. If you lightly oil the filter you ill not have any problem with fouling the MAF sensor. Both my cars have a K&N now. I clean the MAF's once a year when I clean the filters. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it.
