Google CMOD, they make an aftermarket grille for USDM 2013-14

To get the Subaru emblem on do you just screw it in through the back? I saw it on their site, looks good but I don't want it falling off.

I saw that it was about 5/16" off from the hood opposed to 3/16" OEM. Not too bad I'll take it, for the price it's worth a shot. How is the mesh on it? I saw some complaints.

I replaced mine with a plastic ABS diamond mesh for a more OEM look: http://www.customcargrills.com/proddetail.asp?prod=Dia_Plastic_Sharp

Purchased a couple minor cosmetic touches recently and didn't recall seeing them posted before so I figured I'd share here.

First is some emblem overlays from ProStickers. These are customizable, tons of color options for both the background and stars, and are cut to fit each specific Subaru per the options you choose. You get three overlas: front badge, rear badge, and steering wheel. They haven't arrived yet, but the reviews are sparkling, and the pictures look quite nice. Will report back once I get them and put them on. Roughly $22 shipped, couple bucks more for certain color options.

Second thing is some pre-cut smoke vinyl inserts for the rear blinker lights from Premium Auto Styling. Pretty simple thing, but always nice to have something tailor-made for our cars. Again, very affordable at $16.99 with free shipping, or more if you pick up the application tool kit option extras (largest option is +$40 for a heat gun, squeegee, and other bits). Will report back on quality, fit, and application once they arrive.

Did the tail light inserts today. Definitely made the job easier having a heat gun, but still easy install regardless. 2/10 on difficulty scale. I'd give the fit an 8.5 and the cut a 9/10, they're a little bit larger than the application spot in order to be tucked a bit. My install was a little bubbly, so I popped the bubbles with the tip of an exacto knife. I think they look great, and the turn signal light is still visible clearly. I'll report back in the future on their durability, but for now they look and feel nice.

Recommended heat gun (any will do, this ones affordable): http://www.homedepot.com/p/Wagner-HT1000-1200-Watt-Heat-Gun-0503008/100048744. This can be found on amazon, but the amazon link kept changing to some weird newegg or jcpenney link whenever I would paste it.

It will physically fit but will have to be totally wired. Harness from the mirror is totally different than he harness in our car. Ours were never wired for signal mirrors. I know because I tried

Link to this part? And does it fit USDM models?

It is USDM model, I bought it from Texas after collision on copart.com and shipped. Yes those have to be wired but thats no big deal I followed the factory harness till it "met" back blinker wires and soldered in.

The two-piece JDM STI-style trunk spoiler with 4th brake light recently showed up on AliExpress again for purchase. The previous listing had expired quite some time ago and was not re-up'd for a while.

A new raised trunk spoiler option has been found by forum user testa422 (he doesn't come on here much so I figured I'd post it). It's a similar design to the one in the previous post, but is only one piece (no bottom piece) and a bit of a taller design. Looks to be about halfway in between the above spoiler and your typical STI-style spoiler in height. Also has a 4th brake light as well.

This is currently the only picture on the listing. I have contacted the seller seeing if they have pictures from other angles.

You can either get it painted or unpainted, and both options are very reasonably priced, quite a bit cheaper than the spoiler in the previous post. Also stated to come with mounting hardware, template locator strips, gaskets, and instructions.

Unpainted ($84.99): http://www.ebay.com/itm/142204520504

Painted ($136.99): http://www.ebay.com/itm/142204511196

I purchased some mesh and hacked away. Used some paint I had lying around to match the car. This is what I ended up with. I saw this (I believe, photoshopped) pic online and thought it looked good, so wanted to give it a go! I love how it turned out for the little money I invested.

Looks very good. Where'd ya get the mesh? I might try this instead of the CMOD.

http://www.customcargrills.com/Diamond-Grill-Mesh.asp

I went with the top one, in black. I did the 12x48 sheet and did the upper and lower grill. Now I'm wishing I would have gone with a tighter mesh because it's pretty easy to see through this in the sunlight. I plan to paint everything behind it matte black and see what that does. There's plenty of cheaper mesh out there too, so maybe one of those would look better. But it was a pretty easy mod if you have patience and I love the looks of it over the stock grill.

Looks good. I used the Perforated GT mesh: http://www.customcargrills.com/proddetail.asp?prod=Perf_GT

Before I painted everything behind it flat black, you could see the parts behind it. The flat black does a pretty good job of hiding what is back there.

is the wiring in place for the blinkers, or do wires need to be spliced somewhere?

The plugs are completely different. I'll have to make a new harness.

I'm putting this here because where I originally wrote these up makes it hard to find.

Here are my, uh, high quality scans of the instructions for installing Prova rainguards. I pretty much just followed the pictures (mainly because I can't read Japanese). If my camera phone hasn't done a good enough job, I can actually scan these instructions, but the pages are likely to be out of order.

I suspect these directions will work for almost any rainguards, but these are the directions that came with Prova guards specifically.

Long story, well, long:

0) Realize that I'm regurgitating this from memory and looking at these pictures. Anything I say that contradicts the images is probably wrong. Also, you're the one doing this, so deviate from this if you feel it is necessary.

1) Remove the weather stripping from the top of the windows.

2) Clean the area of the window frame where the guards will adhere to with an alcohol wipe (included if new).

3) Peel back the tape backing at both ends of the top tape, and only the top end of the tape along the side of the guard that sticks to the center pillar area. Don't remove the entire backing or you'll never be able to reposition the guard. Bend the removed backing at an angle so that you can grab them after the guards are on the car.

4) Ensure the front guards have their tabs fit into the front of the trim, and then align them. The ends of the tape will keep things in place once you've positioned them.

5) Attach the clips and ensure they'll fit appropriately when you eventually stuff the weather stripping back in.

6) Remove the rest of the backing. The top tape backing should be removed from both ends and meet in the middle. The side tape backing in the center pillar area should be removed from the top down.

7) Ensure the guard is uniformly adhering to the window trim. Press down on it from the middle, and move outwards.

8) Stuff the weather stripping back in, ensuring the the clips are oriented properly.

9) Repeat until all 4 are done.

10) Engage baller mode. 31316420d53be47f1dcf1d7d3bf45b44.jpge4eda8b64644586f832f1b8fb512d92c.jpgb11ebeb602fba68bf25e86ce1e906f39.jpg

The spoiler from a Legacy Blitzen Rev. A-C (1999-2001) fits our trunk just about perfectly. This also means that pretty much all other 3rd gen sedan spoilers should fit our trunks nicely. This is not mounted, just set on the trunk, drilling would bring the middle more flush.

Posting this on behalf of user testa422, since this is on his car. Roof spoiler from VA chassis WRX/STI ('15+) fit our car rather nicely. It's slightly less wide than the full window width, but the lines of the spoiler line up with the weatherstripping on our roofs, and the gap left is very small. It's held onto the window with a generous amount of 3M tape. Overall, the look really compliments the car, and it's definitely the most unique roof spoiler I've personally seen on our cars before.
