But of course, you are correct, a vehicle is not dangerous until it's driven. But please justify how the following is incorrect:

nvm, apparently contributing factors is too deep a subject.

a vehicle can be dangerous not being driven too. Like dirfting down a hill or somthing

Its a horrible thing but I bet more than half the folks on here could tell a story from their adolescence that without a bit of luck could have panned out to be something like this. I feel the deepest sympathy for the families of all those lost but that cant be an excuse to start pointing fingers at people.

If the kid was a bad driver then it was negligence on the part of the other three kid's parents to let their children ride with an unsafe driver in a high powered car. I had a friend in high school who grew up in a motor head family and drove a 94 RX-7 with 450HP in high school. Still has the car today. You cant make a blanket statement that no teenager can have a fast car.

All that said, I wouldn't buy my 16 year old son an STi if I had one. But it doesn't mean gross negligence on the part of the driver's parents.

watching the news this morning, and saw this. a 2012 STi driven by a 17 year old with his friends. i have driven on that highway before, it has very sharp turns and gets very wet in the rain. my thoughts were, he was speeding, didnt see the turn (which they call dead mans curve) and locked his rear brakes. parents bought the car for him, the 4 victims did not deserve any of this RIP, it horrible to see that out of everyone that made it was the idiot driver who should'nt have been driving from the first place, the parents should take some blame, i would never buy my 17 year old kid (if i had one) a 305 hp car for his first car. thoughts or ideas?

Thread summary:

Person 1: It wasn't the fast car's fault, it was the kid's fault. The type of car has no relevance in the accident.

Person 2: Ok then, so you would let your kid drive a fast car?

Person 1: Of course not!

Person 2: Ok, good discussion then chief!

You are frustratingly ignorant. There is no point in continuing to try and change your mind or help you understand your failure to see the bottom line.

I award you no points, and hope this thread is closed soon.

I was thinking the same thing. Damn statistics.

Want to argue about it?
