Tradewind
It is suprising it's quicker than a stock WRX too in 0-60 for such low boost

rum0rz
Does the AVO turbo kit make more power than this SC kit or are they roughly the same? I know if I want torque SC is the way to go but what is better overall?
Tradewind
This item you fit in a few hrs, no oil pan holes needed, not hot things or stubborn manifold bolts to deal with - there is a huge fitting difference I would say the turbo should give more power/tq but the extra hassle just may not be worth it, this SC thing is reversable like you wouldnt believe. 2 hrs and shes stock as a rock, never that easy with turbo - but with time and effort it can be done Engine life with this SC system is very high, cant pick difference to stock in my experience if used and serviced properly I would say the SC system is a little more expensive but then its easy all the way, with a minor bracket change it will fit everything from 01 - 11 Impreza's and most Legacy's too AVO dont seem to be offereing their TC kit in Aus anymore for Subaru 2.5, is it still available in USA? The fitting instructions are here for the older Impreza's but nothing I can see for Legacy H4 tho http://www.avoturbo.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=176&Itemid=
GEE-OTTO
I like the compare and contrast post. The ease of the SC route vs the higher yields of the turbo! After countless posts about the two applications I still can't understand fully why the SC costs so much more ? Less work, less invasive and decent yields. apexjapan
We still offer the turbo kit, one was just installed a few days ago by a customer. It should be available soon for the Australians, they just need to adjust the setup for RHD vehicles. Bolting in the kit actually goes fairly quick - other than the FMIC portion, which takes about the same amount of time as any FMIC install. And without an FMIC, you won't see the amount of power gains that the kit can give.
