Navi looks great! Post some other pics (exterior, anything else that "could" have been minorly upgraded by SOA). Thanks!

Also, what was the OTD price of the car? Wanna see how comparable the 05's are right now to the 06's.

Nice. How is that mounted - clipped to the vent?

RED BEAST magic

$8.54 = shipping works great

you sticky a flat round knob on the back of the pda. the "knob" slides into a slot on the mount from the top.

so there is no way to get the NAV in a 06 Sedan w/ 5MT? not even as an option? (aside from the spec b of course)

dR

Correct. You can't get a navi in an 05 USDM Legacy for all the tea in China. It's not offered by the factory and there isn't a single 2005 Legacy sold in the US that had the navigation.

My only question is why only the AT gets the navi in 06? What keeps the MT from getting it? Not that I care... I don't need or want navigation since I only drive 8000 miles a year, so it doesn't really matter to me. Salt Lake is on a grid system and its impossible to get lost as long as you know the address that you are going to.

Threadjack away! I would like to know this as well

Who knows...until someone can find the part...or be willing to take apart a new dash from a 2006  I don't think that we will have this answer for a while. Especially since this is one of the first cars out. Too bad orpie_lightfoot doesn't work there anymore...we could have had that info. STAT!

Guess we will have to wait....a little while longer! :(

SO... does anyone know a good LCD touchscreen with all of the goodies (boost, battery, other guages) that will fit in the cubby hole? I'm not really that concerned about the navigation system, but the screen definitely looks nice in there

dont mean to threadjack, and i'm sure it's been covered before, but i'll ask again:

does anyone know yet if the nav in the '06 will retrofit into the '05's?

It is supposed to be available as an option coming up in the next 6 months in the Tribecas that do not have Navi installed form the port and 06 LEG/OTBKs. But it ain't going to be cheap as you can imagine. Subaru has a habit of making cars prewired. Who knows... maybe Subaru will surprise us all. They like to do that sometimes. ;)

Like I promised - LGT MY2006 pictures. My dealer said that this is one of the first in US. I know him for 15 years - no BS guy. My options, MOMO, rocker panel and navi. Didn't drive car yet, so - no maps. Enjoy. They also fixed hesitation and AC problem which is a good news

Maps will come in a 2 DVD set that you load under the seat. One for each side of the country east and west of the Mississippi. You can bring up your location after loading. English and French, Males and Female voices. Funniest thing in the world is not going where they tell you to go. I swear it seems to get aggravated with you.

I wish Subaru would get cracking with our recalls. Floor mat hook, shitty AC, side mirror, whatever causes the stutter, shitty paint, tires, and whatever else craps out on us.

Bump for more pix- especially the outside to see if they made any minor cosmetic changes like different moldings.

From what I heard last, SOA told dealerships that they are NOT allowed to install the navigation units from the '06 model into an '05.

Yeah.

Subaru doesn't want you to install NAV in your 2005. They want you to trade in your 2005. then they can count you as another sale this year, as well as last.

BS. I call BS. I don't doubt its voracity (truth) but I do think it is a bonehead move, along with so many others for 2006.

Chances are, if you could get the drive unit, and the screen/bezel, and perhaps the wiring harness, I would think it would be quite possible to add NAV to a 2005.
