Be sure to jack up the rear diff if you decide to do this. Otherwise a big boom is heard. Don't ask me how I know. These go in tomorrow if weather permits. Much much better. It's amazing how much these bushings help. Def recommend doing this. I had to get all these parts from Australia. Mrt performance was awesome. Every vendor in the USA told me 9 weeks or more to get these. Tool them 2 weeks.

GTEASER
I've had my eye on MRT to get hard to get stuff. Good to know that they are good to work with and shipping is quick. sschmelcke
they are great to work with even with the huge time differential.
Qship
Two questions. I apologize for being extra stupid but better safe than sorry. In step 4. Remove 1 tie rod end. It appears that you just had to remove the castle nut and separate the tie rod end from the front housing, not remove the end from the tie rod, is that correct? How would you describe the increase in nvh with the poly fsb bushings vs the rubber? I already have the new bar and figure if I wait for the bushings, I won't get the bar on until the spring. Thanks! sschmelcke
The NVH is noticeable but handling is much better. Especially steering response. Yes I mean the pin and castle nut to separate the end.
HansGT
recommended to have an alignment after the swap?
sschmelcke
I did but I wasn't off. I have free lifetime alignments from Firestone so I just did it to be sure

HansGT
Can't remember if I asked already or not. But I'm guessing at highway speeds the car feels more planted with this swap? Any noticeable additional roughness due to the stiffening of the sway?
sschmelcke
no roughness difference. def more planted. its not as large of a difference as a rear sway. it more or less changes the handling characteristics of the car for the better. the poly bushings added roughness but mostly over bumps
bigstrusk
do you think this OEM bar has the same effect that a 26mm Whiteline would have? i mean, logic would say yes, presuming they both were of similar construction, but i feel like asking the Q anyway.
sschmelcke
Im sure the effect is similar but whiteline doesn't make one for a 3.6 so this is our only choice. maybe a straighter bar would be better
djorge
wouldn`t the whiteline 26 mm FSB for LGT fit the 3.6? Are they any different in shape? Also searching if a set of coilovers would be the best solution (despite the price) to put a 3.6 Outback low as a regular Legacy wagon, cause they dont sell those wagons here in Brazil, so Outbacks have been my choice but rather a Legacy handling height - any hints? At JDM websites they say their coilovers all fit BR and BM chassis, but, never mention if a raised OBK too.
minuccims
NO. 2.5i/LGT FSB differs from 3.6R.
nadracer
+1 FSB for the 3.6 is a completely different shape and won't fit. As for coilover none of them would leave your OB raised. You'd have to change at least one set (probably lower) of control arms at the very least to make it fit. NO. 2.5i/LGT FSB differs from 3.6R. sschmelcke
FWIW I have also been told the outback front bar is slightly longer than the legacy one although its the same diameter
GTEASER
As for coilover none of them would leave your OB raised. Megan has an Outback specific coilover available and with it I think you can get down to OEM Legacy Wagon ride height, although I am not sure what that will do to your suspension geometry.
