Beanboy
On the Neon, at least 1st gens, cycle the key from off to on five times and leave it on the on position the fifth time. The check engine light will flash out the code. quick flashes for the digits of the first number, pause, then quick flashes for the digits of the last number. Pause, then repeats for multiple code. Last code will be a 55, signals end of codes. Wish it was so easy to check on other cars. -B -B http://www.standardshift.com
rallispec
Beanboy -- yeah thats similar to what i had to do on my old nissan.. anyhow, Thanks for the info.... for some reason i thought the accessport worked a generic OBD-ii scanner that would pull codes from other cars. I'll have to see if the old turn the key a million times trick works on the current generation neons.
fzanetti
Wow Beanboy... Your Neon knowledge is making ppl envy, really wish we had these codes easily seen on other cars too!!! heheheheeh Flavio Zanetti Boston, MA
j.reed
No. Are you sure? My AP read an 02 WRX's code just fine. (It was a misfire) The ODB set up is universal for a reason. If an AP reads it the same way any other ODB II device would read the CEL, there is no reason that it wouldn't work on ANY car.
RoundBoy
my '91 legacy had a similar process... i guess subaru phased it out of the cars when ODB-II became popular
