The history that this thread shows is very cool. I like the factoids.

That's the official ski team USA car. Pretty cool!

And I want that GLF (convertible) BAD!

+1

Always wanted one of those to restore. It would be super groovy to have one of those pristine.

My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters!

My favorite Wedge auto I ever owned:

The 1989 Isuzu Impulse Turbo:

Rear wheel drive Limited slip diff. Very decent handler at it's last year product after the fellas from Lotus got ahold of it's suspension. My buds used to use the joke, "Back to the Future Car!" or "Go-Go-Gadget Car"

http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Rubenjc111/95EA6422-orig.jpg

Rocket Launchers on the right instrument pod and oil slick and machine guns on the left. Was still working on smoke screen. The radio was actually the brand name Technics. The rug was Legacy Grey and the dash was this god awful color called Mushroom. Leather was never offered as an option but the seats were awesome! The hatchback was perfect for versatility. I never saw the full potential for the car and ended up selling to a buddy. Really miss doing donuts at walmart in the rain.

That's pretty similar to the xt6 layouh even. Except the xt6 had the awesome 80's dashboard.

The Digidash. Cool looking, but unreliable as hell.

The non-symmetrical steering wheel FTW!! You'd think Subaru was getting assistance from extraterrestrials for inspiration. True awesomeness! I really liked the original designs from the 80's. Nowadays most cars are so dull looking you'd think it should say styling "By Frigidaire" on the side.

Even cars from the 80's have similar styling. It has been getting worse though.

Cars use to be all unique from each different manufacturer. But now I can hardly tell a Subaru from a Honda from a Toyota.

But oh boy is it nice hopping into my 2nd gen with leather seats and auto for road trips and commuting.

I've taken long trips (1000 miles +) in a 99 Taurus, 01 Taurus, 93 Legacy, 97 Legacy, 95 Legacy, Geo Prism, Toyota Corolla, Ford Explorer, Dodge Neon, UHaul Ford E350 boxtruck...and maybe a few others that I'm not remembering off the top of my head.

Second gen Legacy has by far been the most comfortable road trip car.

^Without a doubt! When I bought my Lego. I had to drive it back to Texas from CO about 1,100 miles. That was THE MOST FUN I've ever had on a road trip. Drove through the mountains and throughout Kansas, Oklahoma, then to Texas. I didn't even feel that long. My second Gen sedan is freakin' awesome like that.

I have some pretty serious problems with my back and it kills me to be in a car for too long...but for some reason second gen Legacys don't kill my back on long drives.
