tt6
I've stumbled across a couple posts saying they had success installing parts onto a 5th gen that are labeled for other Subaru models. I was hoping there was a FAQ on this but I can't find it if it even exists. I read that someone was able to fit a swaybar from a wrx, a trunk lip/spoiler designed for another model that fit perfectly, etc... Does anyone know what other parts will fit a 5th gen Legacy even if they are marketed to work on another year/model subaru?

tt6
Here's a post stating that exhausts are interchangeable between a few other models as well... http://legacygt.com/forums/../images/smilies/smile.gif Good exhaust... But do some research cause AVO stated their Axle Back Exhaust for our LGT will fit Several other Subaru Models. You might be able to get a different Companys Exhaust and spend less $$$... THe AVO is like $700.00 bucks alone... If you can grab something for $300.00 you can get your Fogs Too... Impreza WRX 4-door: 2008+ [2.5-liter turbocharged] Impreza 2.5i 4-door: 2008+ [2.5-liter naturally aspirated] Forester 2.5XT: 2009+ [2.5-liter turbocharged] Forester 2.5X: 2009+ [2.5-liter naturally aspirated] Legacy GT Sedan: 2010+ [2.5 Turbocharged] I had confirmation from AVO in an email stating that they do fit other models... See below... This is correct, it's the same part and fitment between the 2010 Legacy Sedan and the 2008+ Impreza Sedan models. minuccims
The Kartboy design is different different. The AVO are solid where they attach to the control arms. When installed the top of the endlinks angle away from the RSB and it can not be connected.
Blizzard
The HKS Air Intake Funnel for 08+ STI fits our airbox (2.5GT). I have one on my car. http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=3659&rsku=6579 ^^ Blizzard forgive my ignorance, but what exactly does this do? It gets rid of the huge silencer we have attached to our airbox and creates another means of induction into the airbox. DeltaSniper
http://www.3gwrx.com/forum/index.php?topic=16000.0 ^ Spring rates for 2011 STI (estimated through some math by a 3gwrx member) Ive been doing some digging around for info... seems that I can use my RCE T2's on a 08-11 wrx / sti sedan with a change of springs AFAIK. You can try putting your BC coilovers on your 2011 STI.
speakafreaka
I only installed mufflers because I'm going back in the new year to get a full TBE (after xmas shopping, ouch). Correction: they're actually from a Forrester, not a STI. I needed the extra length to clear the wagon's bumper. I'll get some snaps + video tonight. http://www.hitechmufflers.com.au/product/index.php?m=Forrester+GT+/+XT&b=subaru I wanted to get dual tips but the wouldnt fit the cutout. apexjapan
Just so nobody makes any mistakes on this, the center section of the 2010 Legacy/Outback exhaust is different than the 08 WRX/STI or 09 Forester. This is a photo of our center pipe section for the 08 WRX Sedan vs. the 2010 Legacy. The one at the top is the 2008 Impreza, the one at the bottom is the 2010. http://www.avoturboworld.com/media/centerpipe_comparo.jpg Besides a minor difference in bends, there's a major difference in length. Both of those pieces are designed to fit to a stock downpipe, so maintain the proper length compared to stock. What the 2010 Legacy and 2008 Impreza sedan share is the same Y-pipe design and flanges where they meet the mufflers. The mufflers are *nearly* identical, however there is differences in the hangers which will cause some difficulty in lining the mufflers up in the cutouts correctly. apexjapan
In the spirit of WRX parts fitting, bought AVO adjustable endlinks. These did not fit. http://www.fredbeansparts.com/index.php/avo-subaru-wrx-and-sti-rear-adjustable-end-linkset.html I'll check on this, because there's a chance the issue may be with whiteline stabilizer bars. minuccims
Paul, thanks to much for taking the time to post. Whiteline may have revised the RSB. I took a flyer that the WRX adjustable endlinks would be compatible. The AVOs stood out as best price for quality. The OEMs are articulated on both ends while the ones purchased are fixed on one end. Those new endlinks could not articulate to secure to the RSB. Whiteline has endlinks that articulate on both ends that fit the 2010. As a question, are the AVO endlinks left-right sensative? If so I need to get under the car and report back. The OEM endlinks are installed with the Whiteline 08+ WRX RSB but I will replace them in the spring. The quality of the AVO product is much appreciated.
legacy360
I know that these can come with some of the Whiteline RSB kits, but the Whiteline RSB mount braces KBR15 do fit the 5th gen leggy.

tt6
My post was made a sticky, heh. Trunk Cargo Nets: I don't want the oem corner nets. I want a trunk cargo net that runs across the opening of the trunk like it does on every other car. Anyone know of one from another subaru that fits?
