sure enough...

'95- 1991 Ford Mustang LX (Red, Auto, 4cyl, slowest car evAr!)

^^^Totalled

'96- 1991 Chevy Beretta GTZ (Red, 5spd, Quad4 DOHC, same displacement as Mustang but twice the power, I loved this car!)

^^^Sold for $975 with 208k on the odo and still running AFAIK

'99- 1996 Chevy Beretta (Blue, 5spd, 2.2 L4, back to slowest car evAr)

^^^Blown engine, left in Crabtree Mall parking lot in Raleigh, NC.

'02- 1996 Mitsubishi Diamante LS (Champagne, Auto, V6, kinda slow, but luxurious and only $500)

^^^Used as fireworks display on July 4, 2004. Stereo, sunroof, power windows never worked again. Offroaded on various firing points in East and West Range training areas. Left in parking lot of Bldg. 6010, Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

'03- 2003 Mazda Protege ES (Laser Blue Mica, 5spd, 2.0, Modded to hell, 15.9 1/4mi but handled like it was on rails.)

^^^First ever new car. Taken GREAT care of, traded in for over 2/3 of the original purchase price in '06 with 48k miles.

'06- 2004 Nissan Xterra SE S/C (Blue, Auto, 4x4, Supercharged 3.3 V6, Great offroad vehicle, decently quick on the road too, but fuel consumption is HORRIFIC!)

^^^Will probably never buy a new car again after the Mazda, not worth it. Still have this truck and don't plan on getting rid of it until it falls apart.

'08- 2005 Subaru Legacy GT Wagon Limited (Obsidian Black Pearl, Black Leather, 5spd)

^^^Will be Stage II+ as soon as I get home, already a modding money pit!)

updates:

Xterra traded for 2007 Toyota Tacoma Doublecab TRD Sport. Speedway Blue, 4x4, V6 4.0. (the X did, in fact, start to fall apart.)

Wagon is now Stg2+, put down 259awhp and 318awtq on mustang dyno on VF40 @ 21.5psi with TMIC w/ 19"s on.

Cant help but notice that you owned your Toyota for longer the other 5 cars combined. They are great cars. I just wish they made a cool looking car (other than the Lexus is250). I went through a German car phase myself, but the negatives outweighed the positives.

^Actually, my '96 Camry was apparently a Friday build, as it needed so many repairs over time. I've had a much more pleasant ownership experience with the fully stock Accord 5MT.

I think the Lexus LF-A is a cool-looking car, but that's about it. I feel it's too expensive.

Toyota needs to do something to reinvigorate their brand, since more and more people aren't convinced about their reliability /durability anymore. Releasing the Toy-baru may help, or it might be too little, too late. (Disclaimer: I work @ corporate.)

I wouldn't mind getting back into a mint-condition version of the E46 BMW M3 SMG or even the E30 325i if I was blessed with a windfall. Need to start buying lotto tickets. Those Das Autos are a blast to drive, but even the E30 325i require deep pockets for upkeep.

Subfan, which Das Autos did you have, fellow Deutschland traitor?

I owned 2 Audi A4's. The fact that they would not get past 15,000 miles on tires started to wear on me. The final straw was what I call the $1,800 noise. Our 06 A4 car started squealing at 26,000 miles. After 3 days and $1,800 (under warranty) I decided that I would venture over to Subaru based on the fact that I feel that it is the best value and I wouldn't have any ridiculous repair bills. We must have AWD where we live. Tons of snow. Just like you, when I win the lotto, I will drive German again!

The LF-A is a cool car, but un-attainable. Toyota reliability will be back, I am not worried about that. I just wish they would hire someone to re-design their cars. Their SUV's and Trucks look awesome, but their cars look so sterile to me.

Age: 21

Car: 2009 Subaru Legacy 3.0R (not the limited version)

Mod: No mods yet.

This is my 2nd car, my first car was a 2005 Ford focus and I traded it in for this Subaru legacy. I totally love my 3.0R other than the fact that it needs a better stereo (and that stupid audio controls that Subaru wouldn't give) but I have yet been driven to the point that I am desperate to go aftermarket. Maybe it is mostly due to the fact that I totally dig the stock version look in the interior.

2005 LGT 5MT OBP Sedan

18x8's, window spoiler, some more aesthetic pieces, kart boy short throw, Stage two + AVO intake next week!

This is my second turbo'd car, and second subaru. Wanted something a bit more mature than the bugeye...

I hear ya! I went from bugeye to 08 2.5i for a bit more room. Also, it's a bit more commuter friendly.
