LosAngelesLGT
I'm guessing the magic number for me is going to be around $3000msrp. (KW2 coils, sways, endlinks, etc)
LegacyFuture
I'm guessing the magic number for me is going to be around $3000msrp. (KW2 coils, sways, endlinks, etc) i should stop now. I should make a more logical decision and spend that money on a more expensive car with better suspension.
BAC5.2
That's easy to say. But what car out there is going to have "happy suspension" right off the lot that only costs your trade + $3000? Methinks none. Ryandigi
I spent ~700 and love my suspension. Springs, endlinks, stoutmounts, and FSB/RSB. Granted I still have some squat and dive while autox, but it is tolerable.

Still coming up on $1500-2000ish which is what I will really spend (GB, discount, begging, trade, used, etc)

Drew888
Coilovers don't necessarily mean a "better" suspension. For most it's... JDM Bilsteins GroupN strut tops Springs of choice Sway bars Good tires Pads/fluid/SS lines Call it a day... When you go past this, it gets kind of crazy and you end up like MSprank or myself, crap loads of mods and still not happy. Oh, you have to drive like a lunatic and understand your suspension well to get you on this road. Hehe either that or we still just dont get it Yo Mike...we are very similar; Currently for me; RCE Tarmac 1 coilovers RCE/GT Worx Camber plates 4boxparts rear adj control arm Cobb Sways (with Rear Reinforcement Mounts) Kartboy Endlinks Whiteline LCA Bushings Whiteline Rollcenter kit Whiteline Steering Rack Bushings Cobb Front and Rear Sway Bar Bushings OZ Ultraleggera 18x8 +48 225/40/18 Dunlop Direzza Star Specs (going on the car this Wed) Still not satisfied, but dangerously close. wpmarky
How do you like having the smaller bar up front? I'm thinking of doing the same thing. From my other post on the 25mm f/r bars: I've gone through 4 different rear bars, starting with the stocker to the 20mm, then the 22mm, then the 25mm, all with the stock front bar. With the 25mm & stock FSB, the turn in was amazingly quick, the front end really wanted to carve into turns. It felt like I was driving a RWD car again Then I put in the 22mm FSB, and the understeer came back a bit and turn in was slower. I kinda missed the feeling of having the stock front bar, but the added stiffness of the 22mm felt more confortable for my driving style. With the 22fsb and 25mm, the added stiffness encourages me to trail brake later, and throttle sooner. Most importantly, I like how the car feels when the weight is balanced mid turn. I feel that the 25mm front would help keep it flatter, but I don't want to reduce my turn in speed any more than what upgrading from stock to the 22mm front bar did.
