There is a 1997 Legacy GT wagon with 410k miles on craigslist. I am tempted to pick it up for my first subie, but even on a car like this that mileage is kindof scary (I am no mechanic :p)
I'm sure the engine is not original and there is alot of "NEW" parts on it

You americans and your high milages. I just can't grasp the huge distances in the states. High milage here in NZ is about 150,000k's, or about 100,000miles. Over that you best be getting a bloody cheap car.

A 98 GTB with 100,000miles on the clock here will go for about $4000us, for a damn good condition one.

Anyway, just over 150,000K's on mine, poor thing's getting over driven.

Haha in the pacific northwest US, where I live, you are extremely lucky to find a Subaru will less than 150,000 miles. All of the ones up here have 150,000 to 250,000 miles and they are still selling for at least $4,000.

Bought mine in sept 2008 with 87k miles. Now it has 108k miles ... And I'm going to be adding another 1000 next week.

I've put about 1500 miles on my LGT since December. LOL So I will soon be the lowest mileage Lego on here.

1997 LGT Wagon.

98,000 miles (just hit the mark)

Light mods, mostly lowered susp. from previous owner.

Purchased with 91,000 miles last May.

Only issue is I'm getting horrible gas mileage (17city/22hwy/9 in snow conditions)

Same here man.

I found a 1992 ford escort the other day with 756.7 miles on the clock. everything was mint. apparently the lady who bought it drove it to DC and back, then parked it in her garage and never moved it. if I was a fan of a 92 escort (like EVERYONE in the world), i'd pick it up haha.

Bought my 1998 Legacy outback wagon with 220,000 kms a couple of months ago for $800. The 2.5 engine had been replaced under warranty at 90,000 kms. Replaced all 4 doors as they were rusted through halfway up the doors, did back brakes and lines, two used tires, fixed rockers and small holes in both rear quarters, couple more odds and ends. Need to install used gas tank from jy, (dealer wanted $700 for the tank only).

Gas mileage was not what I expected. Car had been parked a year, checked air filter and it was plugged solid. Checked mileage with new air filter and seen 24mpg & 22mpg at interstate speeds mixed with city driving, will see if it is better with new tank and lines replaced above tank. Will do plugs as well.

I really like the car.

ive got a '98 GT with 206,000 miles on the car, and 10,000 on the motor. Headgasket blew up at the track "SCCA Rally Cross" so I rebuilt it with the specs the Subaru World Rally Team shop guys told me, I lived in Vermont at the time and there shops 30 min from my house.
