Hey now. You have no idea what I have had done to my house.

if you haven't needed a truck to do these things YOU haven't been the one doing them.

TBH I'm kind of regretting that I got mine as a SB instead of a LB. I need to get about 20 16' long pieces of crown molding for my house and the 6' bed isn't gonna like that. I guess if I layt he tailgate down it.... will still hang out 8 feet.

I also need to buy some furniture before I try to sell the house (which I hope is sooner than later.) Cant imagine people wanting to buy a house that has a card table and folding chairs in the eat-in kitchen.

I was going to do some landscaping with new plants.. not anymore. I do need pinestraw tho.. I can just pick up a dozen bales or so.. that should do it.

all with my truck... the very reasons I bought the thing..

I need to get probablly 2 dozen batts of insulation for the basement, and maybe the same amount of drywall sheets for it as well. I dont need anymore cement board thank god.

course you know having a place to store this crap would be nice. I almost wish the back of my house had a boat door so I could just back into the basement.

It's amazing that even though we have never met, you know how much work I have done on my own house. :spin:

I can't fault Penguin on this one. He's using his truck as a truck. All too often I see shit like this which makes me wonder WTF and why did you buy a truck?

if you have a large trailer this can help redirect wind and exhaust over the top of it.

it can save on fuel economy.

that being said.. he probably did it cos he thought it looked cool.

^ Any fuel economy gains went out the window with the lift kit and the 37" tires...

For that matter a lifted truck like that usually makes a less than ideal tow vehicle.

but.. dual smoke stacks! his manhood TRIPLED in size with those!!:lol:

na believe me.. living in Douglasville.. a STOCK truck is a rare sight.

carrying more weight around on rubber and everything like that also technically reduces towing capacity because of the excess weight thats permanently on the vehicle.

the same reason my quad cab 5.3 cant tow as much as a single cab 5.3. More weight. (and damn is it slower..)

And reduced acceleration and increased braking distances. And a lot more weight for the suspension to handle. But very MONSTER TRUCK!

Pshh, dual smoke stacks are lame when you could have one of these.

Pretty much. Unless you are going to change the rear end gearing and front diff gearing to return the final drive ratio then performance will really suffer with those big tires.

Don't get me wrong running a slightly taller tire than stock can be useful for example my truck is on 32" tires, and when I put on new rubber I may run a 33" as a replacement. The weight difference is not all that much and the change in gearing is fairly insignificant as well. It would be nice to have a little bit more sidewall over rough roads, and strangely the 275/70/R18's are less expensive than the stock 275/65/R18's in some tires and load ranges.

What I will not be doing is trying to run 20" cast penis enlarger wheels that weight 50lbs per wheel with 65+lb 37" tires on the truck with a 7" lift that is made from aluminum spacers.

I might like some different wheels at some point but I am more likely to go the other direction and buy the TRD 17" forged wheels that weigh only 24lbs per wheel, or a set of Volk TE37x 18" wheels that are also forged and light in weight. It would help mitigate the heavier load range E 10 ply tires that will likely be run on the truck in the future instead of the craptastic P metric tires that came on the truck and are not well suited to a high torque application.

If you own a truck...you must be compensating for something....no one really NEEDS a truck.

Yes...totally compensating.

I've got a 2 inch cock and drive a big ass truck to prove it.

But big trucks certain can tow a few things.

We grossed 24,500 lbs across the scales. All the way from Seattle WA to Edmonton, Alberta. FCK that was a helluva haul. And yes, that's a Yamaha Rhino in the bed, and a Dodge Ram Diesel (that runs low 11's in the 1/4 mile) on the flatbed.

Haul ass down dirt track with 34,000 lbs in tow.

Or just help the g/f bring the car back home...(this is what she had before she got her 05 LGT.)

Oh...

Quick dyno tuning..didn't hook up the tach to get the torque numbers..but it's up in the 1,100 ft-lb range.

and it'll go 130+...that's just where I let off.
