legacyCT
Well the regular sedans were non-turbo'd.. So we have the turbo platform, and the hood scoop is functional because the car has a TMIC which the ambient air flowing through the opening cools the topmount thus cooling the charge. Same concept as a FMIC just well ontop.. Im new to the subies especially the GT as well. Others im sure can chime in with more.
Beanboy
Not functional on his... Notice the year. 2.5L versus 2.2L I believe. Maybe some tire/wheel differences. -B http://www.standardshift.com
Max Capacity
Different wheels, I think the brakes and steering wheel. I can look in the second drawer in the nightstand on the right side of my bed when I get home. I have the Subaru showroom brochure there from my 98GT wagon, if it's really that important to you. I'll try and remember... yea like that's going to happen. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. leggtnut
From memory, the GT back then got BBS wheels, some ground effects, different final drive, different steering wheel, but I think not much else. Check http://www.cars101.com. You will find it in the archives. leggtnut
I could easily be wrong, but I remember that the some of the 96 - 2004 GT's had BBS wheels, just couldn't remember which. GTTuner
I never understood the non functional hood scoop. Must have been cool in Japan at the time.
leggtnut
I think that the hood scoop was left in the USDM models. I believe that Japan still had a trubo option durring those years, correct me if i am wrong. SilverLeg
The hood scoop functions by allowing soap to get in and clean the intercooler during washing, you'd never want a dirty intercooler, that would be bad... .
