05AWDGT
Has everyone got theirs then? Or atleast see it on the way? Mine still has not been updated on ups.com. I am getting a bit worried it may never show up! I guess I'm getting impatient.?

SnowBound BP5
haha you guys are fast...I thought he's installing it after dinner!
danHA
Installed and happy as can be. However, one of my tips got slightly bent during shipping. Not very noticeable, but I might bring it up to Dave since I did pay almost a grand for this cat-back and Stromung is not too far away. My initial impressions were that the exhaust was constructed very well and is of high quality. I am happy how the tips sit and will not bother tucking them in. At idle, it is pretty quiet, almost stock like. Shifting up to 3-4k rpm, it is somewhat loud in the cabin, but not overbearingly or annoyingly loud. The real joy comes at 5k-redline. That's when it sounds best to me. On the freeway, I noticed no droning whatsoever. I have noticed a burning smell. I'm guessing that's normal?? Did you guys smell the same thing? aigochamaloh
Lovely California day to be working under the red sun and ashes falling around you. Sorry about the poor picture quality. 05Boost
nice!!! How come you decided not to tuck?
SnowBound BP5
Thanks for the detailed post. I'm actually a little surprised that open pipe isn't *that* loud. Judging from the YouTube clip I think Stromung is a very liveable catback. Almost too quiet for me. But I'm curious to find out if the characteristic will change a lot once an aftermarket downpipe is put in.
SnowBound BP5
nice!!! How come you decided not to tuck? Personally I think it looks fine the way it is. I notice many people on this forum prefer the "tucked" look.

fuzzydd
How far do you guys think it'll tuck up? Do you think an even gap all around is possible or will the bumper have to be cut/modified?
aigochamaloh
How far do you guys think it'll tuck up? Do you think an even gap all around is possible or will the bumper have to be cut/modified? It is already hitting the plastic of the bumper towards the rear of the tips, right where they are welded to the can. If you want to tuck it more, you're going to have to cut the back of the bumper cover at least I think.

If you want to tuck it more, you're going to have to cut the back of the bumper cover at least I think. Get a set of harder mounts from kartboy, cobb, avo, ect. That way you can tuck the exhaust as far as possible and the harder mounts will not allow as much play.
aigochamaloh
Well that is my cousin's decision, not mine. I only installed them and he is ok with how they look at the moment.
SnowBound BP5
Thanks again for the demo ride today danHA! Folks lemme tell you the video clips don't do this Stromung catback justice. It sounds even better in person...deeper at both idle and while revved. The decible is very civil and liveable, no droning whatsoever. Oh, and forget about tucking the cans. They sit just fine where they're at imho.

bochinam
It's been two years, countless emails, calls and PM's, one failed group buy, another GB banned, stock market crash, economic recession, but FINALLY, my quads have arrived!!! MUHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA Ok, so now that I've got the only new set of Stromung wagon specific quads in existence, the bidding will start at... Sorry, you'll have to "pry my cold dead hands..." Thanks again to Dale from boxer4racing. Without his persistence and willingness to leverage some of his political capital the LGT Stromung exhaust might have been lost forever. Stromung was relocating their business and the jigs were minutes from the dumpster. Dale took the call. Thank you Stromung for getting it done so quickly and delivering what is truly one sweet piece of automotive jewelry. Finally, thank all of you who stuck it out and collectively melted your credit cards (we are fools) but who cares, this exhaust kicks @ss!

05AWDGT
I dont think its Dales fault either, I just wanted a straight answer from him. I got one today, he said the tips were being polished, and Stromung is waiting to get them back. I don't know, suppose I am jealous of all that has theirs installed already! I will try to relax, and be patient now.
