f1anatic
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/8111984.stm So that begs the question: why is being revealed ? Is Michael bored of the job ? They could have switched to a new STIG unannounced and unknown. Why making it public ? Top Gear was already a very popular show - did they need Schumi to gain audience ? Or is Schumi on his way to a different job and it was in his contract with BBC to get revealed ? Will the STIGmacher continue with BBC TOP GEAR or not ? Bolksey85
But The Stig doesn't cheat. How can they can be the same person?

StoplightAssassin
that's funny but I bet in one of the episodes Schumi will come give the Stig some advice or something
ShockerGT
I saw it. It seems like a trick to fool everyone. The "Stig" took out a black Ferrari FXX around the test track which there is only one and it belongs to Schumi. I doubt he would let anyone but himself drive it. Anyway, the FXX set the fastest time, 7 seconds faster than the the old time held by the Gumpert. Then after Schumi took off the helmet, he and Clarkson BS'ed like Schumi was a guest in a reasonably priced car segment. Not to mention, isn't it odd that Schumi reveals himself as the Stig the same weekend that F1 is in England?
Gire
I was hoping it was some kick ass but unknown driver.... Schumi kinda ruins it for me if true.
grimbeaver
To me, that joke lap at the end of the show in the Suzuki pretty much says hes not the stig
StoplightAssassin
Wait so did they actually count the FXX as the fastest? Ferrari won't even let one drive outside of a race track and I thought you had to start it real F1 style with an external starter?
ShockerGT
Wait so did they actually count the FXX as the fastest? Yes Ferrari won't even let one drive outside of a race track and I thought you had to start it real F1 style with an external starter? It doesn't need an external starter and that Ferrari claim is off IMO. This is a local wealthy car guy's FXX sitting outside his house. http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/4426/1271705600.jpg http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/4600/1270567600.jpg

ShockerGT
The garage for that house is out back, he had that gate up because it was during a parade that goes down that street and didn't want people in his driveway. This guy has money, trust me. If you remember the story from a few years ago where his son crashed his Enzo, which was the first totalled Enzo stateside. He bought another one not too long after that.

Knight705
in the credits of the show it says schumacher was the guest? either it was cause they were too lazy to edit the credits to say stig - schumacher or it was just a stunt to throw off and confuse everyone. plus the white suit was not the usual stig attire. stig wears logo-less white racing suit and it flat in color, schumacher's white suit had a sheen to it and had the alpine-stars logo all over. plus he looked a bit thin to be stig. from what i remember the stig has a broad flat shoulders which made him look bulkier
Bolksey85
Enzo with a body kit ? I wouldn't be surprised The FXX is based off the Enzo Enzo based, yes, but far from an Enzo with a body kit. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_fxx The FXX's engine is based on the Enzo's but has been expanded to 6.3 L (6262 cc, 382.1 cu in) from 6 L (5988 cc, 365.4 cu in), and output has been boosted from 660 PS (651 hp/485.4 kW), as seen in the Enzo, to 812 PS (800.9 hp/597.2 kW) at 8,500 rpm. LGT_Ltd_wagon
Enzo based, yes, but far from an Enzo with a body kit. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_fxx From what I've researched there is only 1 street legal FXX owned by edo competition and all the rest(29) are "held" by Ferrari for the owners. So I doubt that it's a street legal FXX in the states (Florida ?)

So I doubt that it's a street legal FXX in the states (Florida ?) Your research is wrong. Go research Don Wallace, owner of Lazy Days RV in Tampa, FL. The guy has more money than he can spend. His collection consists of not one, but two Bugatti Veyrons, Ferrari F40, F50, Enzo, FXX, Maserati MC12, 1 of 2 street legal Mercedes CLK GTRs in the US, street legal 98 Porsche 911 GT1, Mercedes SLR 722, Ford GTX1 among a handful of modern and classic Porsches, Lambos, and Ferraris. I have personally witnessed his orange McLaren F1 LM sitting outside of his house in the rain. Im sure he can afford to pay Ferrari to let him have his FXX in his personal collection and have it registered. BTW, he brings out his FXX, among most of his collection, to the local car shows here in Tampa.

I just happened to be watching Barrett Jackson and they were commenting that Florida has the least restrictive regs to register a car in the country. And yes I understand money talks even at Ferrari And I did check out the guys collection nice..............
