LegacyLexTek Posted April 3, 2009 Share Posted April 3, 2009 so i installed my gimmick racing ewg today. was wondering if anyone has done this install. i went for a ride i usually hit 20 lbs of boost. i was hitting 25 lbs. also was wondering if anyone has had any issues if you tighten the bracket to hold the stock internal closed if you tighten it to much the metal ring around the door shatters and you have metal pieces in the exhaust. anyways if you want to do this intall call josh at importimageracing.com he is great, the sound is great, the fit is great, and the parts are sick. LegacyLexTek Posted April 6, 2009 Author Share Posted April 6, 2009 ok so the kid that installed my ewg screwed it up and i had to fix it the other day, last time anyone touches my car but me. the noise was the internal flapper not being closed tight, he had the vacuum line off the turbo so i was spiking to high boost levels. i run 93 octane i fixed the car now i am at 16 psi and i just ordered the new springs for the wastegate, to get back to 20 psi, this post is now garbage Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
itsme Posted April 6, 2009 Share Posted April 6, 2009 Why are you getting a new spring for you IWG. Just make a tab to hold IWG shut. I made one myself. Which EWG are you using? I went with the Synapse Synchronic EWG and I have it run back into the exhaust. I brought the wastegate duty cycles way down. Now I'm peaking at @20.5psi 3400 rpms and tapper to 20 psi at 7000k on 91 cali pump gas.
