cfdrumr
Here are my first logs for stage 1. The 2nd gear logs are 2k-redline The 3rd gear logs are only up to 5k or so because of traffic. I see a lot of knock correction but ill let you guys tell me... http://www.box.net/shared/ay6kidz77z

Bolksey85
1, you're logging too much stuff. 2, your IAM isn't at 1 yet. 3, the knock correction is positive which isn't a bad thing, IIRC.

Bolksey85
Find an empty stretch and give it one hard run to redline in 3rd and that should set the IAM to 1. If not, try and cruise at 30-50% and maybe another redline run before you log.

boostsr20
Your IAM needs to reach 1 before you start logging. Yours is at .575 so its not running the full timing on the map among other things.
cfdrumr
so i just need to drive more and harder for it to reach 1?
boostsr20
Yes, usually a couple boost cycles gets it there.
cfdrumr
and is this every time i turn on the car or every time i flash the ECU?
Bolksey85
Whenever the ECU is reflashed. Once it gets to 1.0, it shouldn't move unless a good amount of knock is detected.
cfdrumr
ill go drive it hard and get some more logs up later...so far do the logs look ok?
enthusiast
ill go drive it hard and get some more logs up later...so far do the logs look ok? Umm you should make sure your car is not doing bad things first. Get learning view installed and running on your laptop.Get the right parameters to log. If you read the posts on romraider and this very sight you will get an idea on what to log. Some you might try are:Engine Load (4-Byte)* (g/rev)Engine Speed (rpm)Ignition Total Timing (degrees)Knock Sum* (count)Manifold Relative Pressure (psi)Primary Wastegate Duty Cycle (%)Requested Torque* (raw ecu value)Turbo Dynamics Integral (2-byte)** (absolute %) [*]I would do some 2K-4K runs do a learning view after and post the logs and the learning view. [*]Then if everything is ok then do some WOT runs. IAM will not necessarily go to 1 if you have a lot of knock or other things. I usually just "drive" (normal) my car until it fully warmed up then check it (IAM). My mod list
cfdrumr
I just picked the parameters that I saw other ppl logging. Shall I add those to the ones I already logged?

enthusiast
No throw out the others and use these. Seriously you really do not need to log things you can just check once like: IAM, ATM pressure, Intake air temperature, etc. Vehicle speed is worthless. Ignition total timing, MRP corrected, mass airflow can be added to the list I gave you above. The less you log the better resolution you get. Infamous1
Your car is pulling a lot of timing. It is not the fact that the IAM is not 1 yet. The car did actually get to 1 at some point then it started pulling timing back due to knock. From what I have seen this map simply may be too aggressive for CA91. I cannot get anywhere near the midrange timing numbers on stg 1 cars I have road tuned. You also could have something not mechanically sound with your car. Reset the ecu, let the car warm up then do a few hard throttle burst. Once you have confirmed the IAM is at 1 then began logging the following: Engine Speed (rpm) Engine Load (Direct)* (g/rev) Ignition Timing (degrees) Knock Sum Manifold Rel. Pressure (4-byte) (psi) Mass Air Flow (g/s) Primary Wastegate Duty Cycle (%) Throttle Opening Angle (%) Also post your current mods list as well.
