05lgt5spd
dude that sounds as loud as my exhaust. 1 resonator, 1 cat. thats it
BigInALegacy
^^ Yup, sounds about right. It definitely rumbles. I'm sure the neighbors appreciate it at 5:30AM Monday-Friday. +1 on better video quality but overall nice. your idle sounds like mine idled in the winter i gotta listen to it in person sometime. Like I said, anytime. I'll definitely try to get something better for a video. The video really does it no justice.
brooklyngenius
Okay, I'll post this only because I said I would... but I want to get a better video (ie: not using my crap cell phone). In actuality, the note is much much less raspy when you get on it... my cell camera really mucked up the parts where I'm hitting the gas. The tone probably sounds the closest to reality when the car idles in that video, that tone is what's in place of the raspy noise from my crappy cell phone if that helps... anyways here goes: Gutted OEM DP, Perrin 3" Exhaust, Perrin Panel Filter, TA 93 Octane Tune Okay... NVM, I guess my videos aren't working right now... :-/ Lemme try again: YouTube - Stage 2 Bitches!! http://s210.photobucket.com/albums/bb158/chrisgemail/Mobile%20Uploads/?action=view¤t=VE_1015091546.flv yeah thats not stage 2 buddy. stage 2 is DP and a tune useless signature line where i cant mention my sponsors "First Bagged BL5!" JaeGT
you dont HAVE to get a new DP... he gutted his OEM one and he has a stage 2 tuning alliance map.
BigInALegacy
^^ Yeah, what he said. Thx Jae. @Brooklyn - I removed the first cat out of the downpipe, and I do have a stage 2 tune. It's a poor man's stage 2 if you will. No matter to me though, keeps the warranty fairies happy. Many members on here run a similar setup with the gutted DP. Many Pre-07's also gut the uppipe too. Also, technically... Stage 2 would be an UPPIPE, downpipe, and a tune. The other hand, it seems you could be implying it's Stage 2+ because of the exhaust? If that's the case, I guess you could say that, but I'd still call it stage 2. Edited October 16, 2009 by BigInALegacy

iNVAR
Clips I took today... raining unfortunately, so please forgive the annoying "ticking" sound. SPT v2 catback, Invidia catted DP, Invidia catless UP, AVO TMIC, infamous tuned. 5th gear: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LV0jmbkUaaI]YouTube- 2005 Subaru Legacy GT SPT catback exhaust[/ame] 4th gear: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-MRIQ8DLhE]YouTube- 2005 Subaru Legacy GT SPT catback exhaust[/ame]
scoobydoobie
Video of my sleeper stage 2+ set up: Setup: Grimmspeed crossover pipe GS Ported and polished exhaust manifold GS UP COBB catted DP AVO TMIC AVO panel filter (intake silencer removed) Stock CBE more to come.. Same set up as above, just with the addition of an AEM CAI and custom magnaflow axlebacks with S2000 tips (purchased from a member here). Just put the cans on today and sounds prefect IMO. Not too loud at all, no drone on the interstate. Just a nice, low rumble. The tips and cans tuck up nicely and they could easily pass as stock to those who don't know any better. scoobydoobie
I'm just running these custom axlebacks on the stock mid/y, not the magnaflow catback you can buy from vendors on here
cfdrumr
i remember when i ran straight pipes. I had cut the resonator out of the stock mid and i ran no mufflers for a few days. My god...it was unreal. Talk to Steve (05legacygt i think)... He has the same setup you have. Stock mid/y with magnaflow 14" mufflers. When he cut out the resonator it sounded PERFECT!!! It isnt too loud and no drone but when he guns it, sounds awesome. I am starting to become a fan of smaller piping for sound reasons. I think I am going to replace my 3" mid (with resonator) for a 2.5" with no resonator. Should be louder and less drone. Look at CBE's. The HKS and Borla use smaller pipe and drone less than the 3" varieties... Magnaflow, XO2, Perrin, Cobb. I may loose a few horses but brutal sound is brutal sound! RIPjeep2002
Anybody got clips of Magnalow CBE with a Cobb or Invidia CATTED DP? That is the setup I am looking for this winter, and have heard the uncatted magnaflow, and it is just too raspy. Anybody got clips?..
