Jerboa113 Posted December 8, 2008 Share Posted December 8, 2008 A friend of mine (and I admit I too am interested in this) is looking at developing illuminated cup holders. He wants to do this by tapping off the si drive light control and power source. Has anyone done this and is this the method they have taken? The idea is to have the light come on/off with the headlight switch. ideally if anyone can direct us to one of the newer LGT console wire harness diagrams that may help get things moving in the right direction. I would look at my vacation pix but.. well they're on my HD with my other pix and I wont be on this project right away. thanks in advance! But, the leds go on with the lights, dim with the normal adjustment and I even added an extra swtich to turn them on and off independently (Still only when the lights are on though)! I need to capture the current interior mods anyway... hopefully I took some photos of the process... but if not I might, at some point take the cup holders out to snap pics of how/where I drilleed and tapped the LEDs and where the wiring is, etc. I know that I used a wire lead from behind the stereo to get the power when the lights ar on and dimming capability. Only w/o the impossible task of importing a console that may or may not fit with a hole for si drive and probably a different wire harness, not to mention the e-brake component you'd have to buy and probably drill holes in the transmission hump for. I really like the round surround around the shifter for both the Auto and the Manual.
