2010 MazdaSpeed6

Recommended Posts

Looks nice....very Lexus-ish. Guessing we'll see it in 2010.

From what I've read, power plant bumps up from 2.3L to 2.5L turbo 4. 280HP range. (Hmm 2.5L, who else does that...hmm) Will be AWD again, not sure if the same set up or not as the previous model. Anyway...something to watch. I'll be interested as it's a larger sedan than the current LGT and with a growing family....yah need room.

...I'd think they'd do a power-hike, too? 280hp is what it's got now. Hopefully, regardless of peak, they fix the anemic high-end power of that engine/set up.

isnt the new mazda6 too large for a 25.L 4cyl? I mean sure if the powers there fine, but.. I would think a car that large would be healthier with a supercharged 6 and about 350-400hp..

they fatten the body but leave the heart the same size..

The old MS6 was rated under the previous SAE power rules.

Shouldn't change too much. 280hp from the new one one be (peak) more than 10 more than previous.

With AWD that car looks like it would come out to 3700lbs, where 280hp aint really shit.

You can then say the same about the current Legacy.

Do some math.

Out of the box, better power to weight ratio than the Legacy.

'09 LGT (MT): 3428/243hp = 14.1lbs./hp

'09 LGT (B): 3543/243hp = 14.5lbs./hp

'10?MS6: 3700/280hp = 13.2lbs./hp

I have said the same about the legacy, many many times. thank god mine is only 3300lbs with over 300hp-10.65lbs/hp

I saw a white one today in down town Chicago. Definitely looks better in pictures. I first thought in is an Impala but the resemblance is close enough...especially since it is a BIG BULKY car. And definitely looks better in pictures than in real life.

Looks like the larger USDM model to me.

We won't be getting an MS6 that the rest of the world has. It's going to be tough to sell a small mazda, with less powerful engine(it's not 280 HP, it's 280 PS<-which is the gentleman's restriction on power for japanese cars). Compared to the bigger American model, which has a 272 HP V6.
