PFlorenzano
Hello everyone, What are the major differences between the 2008 Subaru Legacy vs a 2006 - 2007 model? Is the car any bigger? how about performance? Thank you for your answers. Pete
Underdog
Not much besides the make-over. Front bumper, quarter panels, headlights and grille. Rear bumper and taillights. SI drive started in '07 along with aux-in, fold-down rear seats. Catless up-pipe (pre-turbo) in '07+ gives slightly better torque and hp compared to stock '05-'06 GT's. GT wagons disappeared for '08, garnet red was discontinued after '06. Atlantic blue was replace with Newport blue, IIRC. The real difference has been for the spec.B model which has gained more potent upgrades over the GT in the '07 and '08 models. Golf4283
the '08's have hover technology too. On a serious note though what he said^^
Bdubs
07's also come with the option to remove the rear center passenger shoulder belt, and clip it into the deck under the window for storage.
vr4Legacy
Bdubs.... AHHA.... THANKS!!! I was wandering what the hell that empty cubby spot was on my rear deck lid. I almost started a thread to find out ( I could'nt seem to find it from RTFM) One big thing the 08's have that I noticed from previous models is the fact that I drive one. prior to '08 I never owned a LGT, so that's a pretty good start
vroten
I may be wrong here, but according to my dealer, the 08 2.5i sedan has a telescoping steering column. Our car does have it, but I cannot say for the 05-07 models.

Carter
Pre 08 doesnt have telescopic steering wheel? Damn, I'm glad I waited.
pillboy
Brown paint and ugly taillights. It is still ugly.
Crawdaddy79
The '08s also feature a steering wheel control with up and down arrows for the dash display. The '07s have a single button to push near the speedometer, and you have about 7 screens to scroll through so it's a pretty unnecessary annoyance when you want to view other information - especially if you pass the screen you want up accidentally. flyboy1649
Brown paint and ugly taillights. Don't hate.....that "brown" is sexy, and Amber looks great in it!
deeslk
A big thing is tilt and telescoping steering wheel, more controls on the steering wheel, some interior trip wraps around now and if you got the 5EAT it is new and updated this year with down shift rev matching and slightly quicker shifts. SubLo
Catless UP beginning in 07 yes. But, I believe a smog/air pump was added in lieu, using the belt drive obviously, and perhaps negating the gain in catless UP a bit. ________________________________________________ '05 BSM OBXT Row-your-own, W.I.P. '06 Shrek B # 64 - The car the wife loved to hate :( Sold...
