BMW F3 Crossover....twin-turbo available

Recommended Posts

hopes this ain't a reposty. searched and didn't find anything.

today's AutoWeek magazine had a preview of a new breed of BMW cross-over SUV named the F3. its got the sort of love it or hate it lines of the new WRX/STI but in typically BMW fashion manages to look much more sophisticated and "drawn together." article states that the new 3.0L twin-turbo 300 hp engine will make the line up. its base design is RWD but the all-wheel X drive may become an option. a diesel is also a possibility.

I continue to marvel at BMW's ability to push the front wheels to virtually the bumper beam, yet still make a car that passes international safety regs. makes U.S. model Subies look like old Caddies with a 6-ft hood.

Well, yeah, but I think this is not about safety rather our symmetrical AWD layout - engine fore of the front axle.

Btw, looked under hood of an M3 today... interesting the "strut tower" (i don't think they actually use conventional struts0 are basically in the middle of the engine bay, not by the firewall.

Yes we did drive it, 10X better vehicle than the CX-7. Performance for the RDX was quite impressive. If I was going to spend the $ on the MDX I'd be giving the 07ML350 or a 06 RL500 with low miles a close look.

She wants the FJ loaded with Nav & the Toyota 20" BBS wheels in Black Cherry:rolleyes:

I simply REFUSE to pay a premium for that vehicle, told her if that is what she really wants wait till the end of the year & we will see....

Driving wise the RDX is leaps & bounds better than the FJ

Want her to give the Highlander V6 a look also....

Before it is all said & done I want her to test drive the Veracruz Limited....no factory nav there though:(:(

She keeps cars a while.....5 years for the LC so she always gets picky when it comes to buying time

Toyota 6EATS .........SUCK!!!!!!

check out prices on carmax.com - they have a Toyota dealership in a few markets and they are selling below MSRP. If you really want one that is.

:lol::lol::lol:

Thanks PGT...it's the options she wants in that color that make it tough:(:(

Cargo room in the FJ is not to bad, R500 will be looked @ you can pick up a "sport" version with Nav for around 40k or just under.

Most of them have around 10k on the odo for that price

As far as the looks of the FJ go...........

I'll say it's a aquired taste, the wifey just loved it the first time she saw one:rolleyes:

Rumor on the FJ forums is that the supercharger kit from Toyota is due out in August.

Hey wukindada, talk your wife into a Sierra Denali or an '08 F150 Harley-Davidson S/C.

'08 F150 Harley-Davidson S/C: 450 hp & 500 lb ft torque (same engine & S/C as the Shelby Cobra, and tuned by Saleen)

'07 GMC Sierra Denali - far nicer interior, most comfortable seats I've EVER sat in, 403hp and 417 lb ft torque (0-60 in 6.3 and 14.8 1/4 mile)

The GMC Denali is basically a Cadillac Escalade in pick up truck clothing and over $20K cheaper.

Drove a 07 Yukon SLT yesterday with the 5.3.....

Very impressed with the interior & it drove very nice. Very quiet under all conditions. Acceleration was more than adequate for a good size SUV. Only one issue I had with the vehicle was the price....41K:rolleyes::lol::lol::lol:

I could possibly see 36-37 but no way @ that price

RDX is still tops right now....

If the Yukon could be had for 36k it would be @ the top, it really is that nice
