wukindada
This race took place this past weekend yes it was on a track & I am interested to hear who you guys think won? Stock Mach1's were rated @ 305HP Engine & powertrain mods to the Mach1 are as follows: CAI Custom tune Header-back exhaust lightweight pulleys C&S MAF ** car has never been on a dyno** Street tuned Mach1 has just over 4K on the odo..... 07 GT500 Stock other than Xcalibrator-2 SCT programmer Was put on a dyno soon after the flash & put down 478whp/482ftlb Neither car had drag radials or drag shocks. Rearend gear ratios were stock on both vehicles. Anyone with a guess on et's or trap speeds? Both drivers are about equal in there driving abilities with te nod going to the GT500 driver. godwhomismike
The GT500 has far more superior hardware?
godwhomismike
from what I recall - the owner of the Mach should not touch drag radials with the stock axles. I've seen a bunch of them snap with drag radials.
elxkid
lifes short so just tell us already... ...sporting the hottest Legacy on the westside of my block:icon_bigg
godwhomismike
I seriously think the GT500 would win. I can't see the Mach taking the GT500 w/out adding a supercharger, stronger rear axle, and drag radials.
BOXRPWR
is there a vid? is there a prize for being right? I'll take the Mach I for lighter wt.
wukindada
Here is the biggest shocker of all..... Neither car was in the 12's......very close...... but not there ET's go to the Mach1 13.01 to a 13.04 Trap goes to the GT500 115 to a 109. When I saw the time slip I laughed @ both..... Don't get me wrong both are nice looking cars & the Mach1 is basically in Concourse condition. Talked with the GT500 owner today & he said drag radials & drag shocks will bring him down into the mid 12's.....we shall see;) Toyota 6EATS .........SUCK!!!!!! johnAWD
Hard to say, but I'd be driving the 500.
John M
The Mach 1 would likely see 12s if he added gears -- those DOHC engines love short gears. 109 mph is good for a n/a with minor bolt-ons.
godwhomismike
I'm impressed the Mach won. I was looking at one (Azure Blue w/ automatic) and test drove one like 2 or 3 times before I went with the Legacy. I remember the rear axle is pretzel stick thin, but it is more than enough with near stock power. But, if you add drag radials - you are going to break it. wukindada
I'm guessing the Mach1 is putting down 340-350whp, had no idea they take to mods so well:rolleyes: I'll try to get up a few pics within the next week. Still find it funny that neither car dropped into the 12's, both cars had a breat trap speed though Toyota 6EATS .........SUCK!!!!!!
rao
Yes, if you made those cars fast then they would be fast Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT

wukindada
So the ol' Daewoo wagon could give both a run for their money I'm still  @ those times....... Not saying I could pull a trap speed like the 500 though!! Maybe with the new juicematic installed;) Toyota 6EATS .........SUCK!!!!!!
wukindada
12"s now....... Hopefully very....very low 12's soon;) Still think once the 500 installs a few "bolt-on's" he has a 11sec car, we shall see. The funny thing is the Mach1 is a garage & show queen, never was meant set up for drags. The 500 owner has really stepped up his plans mod wise & already ordered Drag Radials & a smaller pulley. Catback will be on it's way soon thereafter Toyota 6EATS .........SUCK!!!!!!
godwhomismike
I am surprised at the GT500. Especially with how much they cost and the power they are advertised with. The Mach 1's as my favorite Mustangs (especially the R-code '69-70 and the '03-'04 models)
