Myevodream
I got the connectors out, I'm talking about the actual wires that are run to the connectors, etc...(may be different on my 08 vs and 05-07, not sure) but I just baked them in the oven with the light, seemed fine, just pulled it apart and realized there was no way to get it out anyways, the connector wont fit through the grommet. These are a spare set of lights I bought anyways, so worse comes to worse I have an extra harness. Plus I may not be using these anyways as I am doing the MDX retro. So far so good, not to sand and black out. The most nerve racking part is over.

Golf4283
He's talking about the grey h7 connector. It can come out. I have an '08. Just gotta slide it through long ways. Not too difficult.

Sanded, painted black, with mdx projector bowls, and shields, as well as tsx-r glass. The pic of the cutoff is me holding the projector against the wall, the real cut off is amazing and will post pics of them on the car when the weather allows me to do so. 1 http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5260/5508313848_e3b9681ed8_z.jpg 2 http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5097/5508313430_8c44402f69.jpg 3 http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5215/5507715375_0156b0d224.jpg 4 http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5178/5507715453_429d9579a6.jpghttp://legacygt.com/forums/%3Ca%20href=%22http://www.flickr.com/photos/31031807@N04/5508313848/%22%20title=%22After%20by%20FourViewStudio,%20on%20Flickr%22%3E%3Cimg%20src=%22http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5260/5508313848_e3b9681ed8.jpg%22%20width=%22334%22%20height=%22500%22%20alt=%22After%22%20/%3E%3C/a%3E Edited March 8, 2011 by Myevodream

jproy12
I didn't read all pages, but I got a really good deal on a set of rx330 projectors, the only thing is that the lense holder on one of them is broken.. What do people usually do? As far as setup? Do you use the rx330 bowl, with the lgt lense holder and lense? Or what? The reason I'm asking is because I'd like to use the rx330 bowls with the lgt lense holder and lense and sheild, is that going to give me a nice output? Or should I try to fix the rx holder? What is the best setup, mix and matching from the rx and lgt? Thanks JP
MiniStiGuy
my current setup uses LGT lens holders with E30 clear lens, Legacy shields, RX330 non-afs Bowls, Phillips 85122+ D2s bulbs, DDM 55w Ballast OEM HID's Rx330 Retro

If you would have done something different, what would it be? Thanks! JP
MiniStiGuy
I like the setup but I prefer a curved shield instead of a flat shield. I'm still debating taking them apart tonight and making some custom curved shields for them. OEM HID's Rx330 Retro
jproy12
When you are talking curved sheild, its the part that's between the bowl and lense holder? How can it be flat vs curved? Aren't they all flat? Maybe I'm missing something! Thanks JP
MiniStiGuy
there are 2 types of shields. The LGT uses a flat one (this is the part between the lens holder and bowl. http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u280/garrett804/Rx330%20Swap/Lunch082.jpg OEM HID's Rx330 Retro
jproy12
^^ so basically, the opening is curved downwards I assume? JP
MiniStiGuy
no I'll find a better pic to show both shield types and post it up. OEM HID's Rx330 Retro
armax1980
Quick question. If you cut or drill the cap, what do you guys use to seal the open areas from water?
MiniStiGuy
I don't drill it ever but I know most use the grommets that come with the kits they buy. OEM HID's Rx330 Retro

I'm about a week away from doing my swap, and still not sure if I want the Morimoto bi-xenon or the RX330... So to recap, I can use the LGT lens holder with the LGT shield and the RX330 non-afs bowl? ANyone know the difference between the LGT and RX330 lens holder? Or are they the same? JP
MiniStiGuy
The RX holder has the lens sit lower than the LGT one so it is shorter than the LGT one. This is a curved shield just like you have in the RX330 AFS units. In the picture its up on the back of it but you can see how it is a U shape with the center notch for the step. http://www.hidinformation.com/wp-content/themes/d-68/rainbowtrance/images/hid%20retrofit%20s2000shield.jpg OEM HID's Rx330 Retro

jproy12
Got a set! These rx projectors share the same bowl as the 08/09 mdx projectors! Just so everyone knows!
