DukeTrout
They did a "car keys" segment on it a couple of months ago. It will be nice to see the test numbers. The tester on the first segment gave it a glowing review, then dissed it relative to the STI. Then again, he looked like he belonged on NASIOC, anyway. Ich bin echt viel netter, wenn ich nuechtern bin. Echt!
Vimy101
whoah...just watched this.. they recorded a 0-60 of 6.2 seconds! Oh Vimy, where are you? They did really like the handling and braking. but 0-60 in 6.2???????????? bizarre. They question the price 34K plus for a 4 cylinder car. "As long as they can overlook the Subaru logo." What asses they are. A 2.6l engine and they went slower?
ANDYJ
I watched it too and what terrible times they got. 0-60mph: 6.2 secs 1/4mile: 14.5 @96mph I'll admit I haven't taken my car to the dragstrip yet or tried high rpm launches.....but those numbers seem very slow compared to what I've read. djsauce
They probably left it in S, not S#
jagcars26
They probably left it in S, not S# Either that or they let that anal guy Pat Goss drive
Atroz
I watched it too and what terrible times they got. I've been watching the show for years. Their numbers always seem to be bad.
RBram58
6.2 secs seems way off. So what is the general concensus 0-60? I seem to recall reading somewhere a 5.4.
PGT
they used 'sport sharp' to test. AVO has said this setting was down 20hp. there's your .8 seconds. For all the brake haters, the Spec B stopped 3 ft shorter than the AMG CLK with pretty brakes. still....I was suprised at the body movements compared to the AMG cars. The Spec B was dancing all over. I wish they'd show the slalom speeds....that'd give us some more info.
Spec B
Has there been any Magazine road tests on the 07 Spec b?? i know that the 06's ran about 5.3..and I assumed an extra shift with the 6 speed would hurt 0-60 a little bit, but 6.2 is crazy! Vimy101
stock manual 06 Spec. B best is 5.1 recorded by autoweek. I think 5.3 for manual stock LGT is pretty acurate. Lets say 5.8 for auto. That puts their 07 specB 0-60 a full second behind what most individuals and magazines have found. Ninja edit.
Vimy101
They probably left it in S, not S# There is a thread on this board where the different settings were dynoed and S# didn't allow the throttle to open as far as the normal "S" setting. Tip in might be quicker but overall power isn't there.
PGT
it's allows Cobb Tuning to do something interesting with map switching. I hope.

edkwon
still....I was suprised at the body movements compared to the AMG cars. The Spec B was dancing all over. I wish they'd show the slalom speeds....that'd give us some more info. Im not surprised, even with the stock spec B suspension the car was very floaty and bobby until it was lowered and sway bars were upgraded. DukeTrout
I have the episode it Tivo-ed. Sure looks like they launched the CLK a lot harder, but it's hard to tell with RWD vs. AWD. I think they had Pat Goss's grandma drive the spec.B. I watched the slalom a couple of times, and compared it with the CLK. The spec.B was rolling around something awful, but it held a nice line and maybe even a bit better than the AMG. Of course, the CLK weighs like a tank in comparison, so??? Garandman
Looks like another juiced factory ringer provided for a car review. At least on this one, they're being up front about it. wukindada
Now those times look more like a AT not the MT.....should have been in the 5.8 range. Though even the times for the CL 63 seem little on the slow side. Every test I have seen those cars are in the 4.5 - 4.7 range:rolleyes: Toyota 6EATS .........SUCK!!!!!! PGT
people shouldn't obsess over the stock 0-60 times. bench racing FTL. the good thing about the 6sp is the ability to put a big nasty turbo on the car and not worry about the transmission.
