Subaru's prototypes in recent years are all Cali registered. Note that they all have the same Dealer plate. Dealers, Manfucturers, and Distributors are assigned a Dealer number... all of their plates carry that number. The numbers on the right are individual for each plate they have.

I think the Rear should be changed a little. I really like the front though. Just a little number of tweaks to it should make it look even better.

I would hope the roof, above the window sill line would not be the same as the current car... Otherwise it just wouldn't look like a new design, or like the camo'd car in the spy shots.

Not to mention that the spy shots show the hood scoop further forward, and flushed into the hoodline, rather than the scoop being above the hood, as current, and the blue illustration show.

Front and rear end don't look too bad. Imagine gridded "smiling" single grille from the spy shots between the headlights shown in the illustration... I dunno...

Subaru Impreza

Our spy photographers caught this sinister-looking Subaru Impreza undergoing testing, and it proves what we knew all along

Hatch layout will polarise opinion, but new Impreza's front end will feature the signature air vent on the bonnet

Auto Express first revealed plans for the switch to a hatchback layout last year (Issue 853), leaving enthusiasts up in arms. Yet a close look at the back of the all-new four-wheel-drive model confirms the practical bodystyle.

This is proof positive that the brand has its sights set on the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf with its next Impreza. However, fans of the Japanese marque will be pleased to see that some of the current car's styling, such as the gaping bonnet vent, has been retained.

A number of familiar features will appear under the skin, too, and traditionalists will welcome the line-up of horizontally opposed boxer engines. The entry-level unit is set to be a 170bhp 2.0-litre capable of returning 30mpg, while the turbocharged WRX and STi versions are expected to deliver as much as 300bhp. The new model is pencilled in to debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in October before arriving in showrooms in 2008. It will later gain a hybrid drivetrain, currently under development with Toyota, maker of the Prius.

Insiders say the new Impreza, which will also be available with three doors for the first time, will feature upmarket interior materials as the sporty brand seeks to improve cabin quality.

At the tail end of the article quoted by The B4:

Just before Mitsu/Daimler-Chrysler broke up. The Dodge Caliber, Jeep Compass, Mitsu Lancer are all based off the same chassis and use the same World Engine.

I wasn't expecting a serious answer to my snide put-down of the Evo concept's looks. Well done.

Ich bin echt viel netter, wenn ich nuechtern bin. Echt!
