I've had this and the Hella before. I think these have a slightly lower frequency but is much louder. I have not installed these yet and it has been sitting in the garage for 6 weeks now. Need some Bosch relays and I am too lazy to take off my bumper.

Gene...I've got a drawer full of relays - let me know if you need some. I, too, have horns to install (and take my Hella's out).

I've got a pair of these to install:

Patagonian GT - don't rely on old relays. I also had probably a dozen DEI relays that I've collected since the mid 90s and when I wired up an alarm in my truck the relays used for the door locks died within the first week. I replaced 'em with new ones and they've worked for a year now.

The old relays were indoors, never used, etc. so I have to assume they failed due to age.

Those are Stebel Nautilus horns. There's the original one...

139 dB at 4 inches, 115 dB at 2 meters

and a new even more compact version...

There's also the Wolo Bad Boy...

It looks just like the newer Nautilus and has the same frequencies (530 & 680 Hz). Listed as 119 dB.

I've got the Nautilus. It's unique sounding and loud without being obnoxious.

I guess that means I am not young anymore :icon_sad: :icon_sad: The MB OEMs are the black ones without the pointed middle.

age is just a state of mind :)

MB have changed their horns depending on which country the car is being sold and yr. model but Bosch is the OEM standard horn.

The Bosch look/sound good - I've heard them on MBs in the Philippines before. Definitely deeper/lower than the Hellas but sound as loud.

PGT - where did you find the horns and where do you plan to "fit" them on your car?

Griot's Garage sells them. They are cheaper than SuperTones actually. They'll fit in the stock location I think....I've yet to install them. I'm adding the SPT intake and will remove the resonator box, so there should be ample room then.
