Here is my custom exhaust. I bought the Magnaflows from a member about a year ago. They were custom made and had the factory tips welded on. I found some dual tips from another member a couple of months later and had them fitted at a muffler shop (while on the car). All in all very happy with the results.

Here are a few more pics. The position of the tips were just the way I wanted them. They are short enough, however, that they do leave a little bit of residue on the bumper, but not bad at all.

Same question as above. I'm looking for a classy dual tip setup.

Got em from CRAZY KEN years, YEARS ago after I sold the Xo2's in the 1st pic. Aero turbines cans with Pypes dual exhaust tips. He was changing setups and I was interested in them since I saw/heard them in person. Didn't and still don't regret the purchase.

These tips cut to STi Stagger

Welded to these

Painted black and looked like this when I got em (Set up for a Megan midpipe) Shop chopped my factory Y back and welded 2.5 pipe from these going to where I removed and straight pipe the factory resonator. Resonators were added later to the mid pipe for cold morning starts and less cop attention but I lost the exhaust spool sound.

This is what they look like today. Was in the process of stripping and repainting them when for no good reason I decided to do a rebuild (sarcasm) The tips look close to bumper cause the down pipe is suspended by bungee cords.

Does anyone have pics of exhaust tips they welded onto their existing muffler? I have a Magnaflow exhaust and I like the tone of it, but would like a quad tip, but haven't seen any systems for our cars that looked good. So, I plan on buying exhaust tips, cutting the magnaflow tips off and welding on the new ones.

Any tips or tricks from those of you that have done this? I need to measure up the exhaust cutout in the bumper to make sure the new tips will fit. I want them to be tucked up into the cutout for a cleaner look.

Went for the standard STI mufflers for GT Spec B with unchanged exhaust piping....STI web site Japan has the prices and recorded sound available to hear...subtle but neat....does not interfere with the stereo balances....with a carbon fibre rear defuser to finish the look.

I realize how ancient this post is, but I actually intend to try something similar to this out on my 3rd gen wagon, but I do not want the burnt tips. We'll see what happens ;)

I posted info on my new exhaust in another thread, but I'll go ahead and post here and add to the compilation...

This is a custom SS axle-back exhaust (muffler delete) with double-walled 3.5" black ceramic-coated tips designed/fabricated/installed by Moore Performance (Pittsburgh area; highly recommended!).

The founder, Ryan Moore, suggested a side exit exhaust right behind the rear wheels, and I think they did a really nice job. This is possibly the only OBXT (and one of a handful of Subarus in general) in existence with a side exit exhaust...

Magna Flow 35158 tips....very much like a bigger version of the OEM tips....an inch wider and 3/4 inch deeper....fills the cutouts much better.
