Sweet!!! let me know how loud it is aftey Y /resonator swap!

Those cans look similar to the Genomes, except off center and larger oval canisters! BADD ASS!

Genomes....schweet..... :) :)

Ooooh, Autospeed - nice..... :)

Here's a bad picture of my very, very shiny grapefruit launchers:

Sorry for the bad picture quality, but I've really got *no* digicam (or photography, for that matter) Kung-Fu.

Here's a much better representation of what these canisters look like (as well as how shiny they are), from the kind gentleman who sold me these puppies, former LGTer Bluesmaster. I hope he does not mind that I've hijacked his pictures for this thread:

These are Blitz Nur-Spec Touring canisters. Available in axle-back format only.

Currently they are paired to my stock pipes from the last cat, back - this weekend should see them paired with a Lachute Y and custom Magnaflow-resonated mid-pipe combo, thanks to Peter at Pltek. :D

These canisters produce a very mature sound. Low-end rumble is their game. At idle, the distinct lumpy thump of our Boxer setup is the most audible characteristic. The mufflers are loudest from inside the cabin at between 1.5K to 2.5K RPM, where they produce a bassy, resonant (although it's so far from "annoying" that it's not even funny) rumble. As the revs climb, noise is isolated to outside the cabin only - and in-cabin volume can pretty much totally be attributed to induction noise, turbo and engine sounds, and gear-whine.

In my setup (sedan) - currently speaking of course, i.e. on stock pipes and stock turbo, with the exception of Crucial UP and shorty DP - there is no resonance/droning at highway speeds. As a matter of fact, at above 3K RPM, the cabin is nearly as quiet as stock.

^ Strangely enough, bro, the above-cited combo of Lachute Y plus custom 3"-piping w/Magnaflow resonator setup ( detailed by Peter of PLTek here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33452 ) contributed almost no additional cabin noise to my setup when the vehicle is in-motion.

I say that this is very strange as I can now visually see as well as easily feel that the exhaust gasses are being piped through much, much more freely all the way back to the grapefruit launchers that are my tips. ;) And certainly, from with the vehicle stationary and at-idle, at the back, by the tailpipes, it's definitely much more "concussive" feeling. The note is almost so deep that it's felt viscerally rather than heard audibly.

I'll have to see what the wifey thinks of this setup at-cruise, but I predict no problems if I simply clutch-in early on decels and get out of the resonant-range (1.5K to 2.5K RPM) during street-starts.

Certainly, this past weekend, her first in Winky after the canisters were on (she's yet to be in the vehicle after the piping change), she did not complain of noise levels except when I first started-up the car in the garage. As soon as we pulled-out and were on-our-way, she was plenty happy.

:D

Thanks to brother and ex-LGTer Bluesmaster and Peter at PLTek for this great setup. :)
