Edit 2: http://www.installer.com/kits/ guess I should have searched You can get it from Crutchfield too, much cheaper than Installer.com. I've got one on the way 19.99 +shipping. part number is slightly different, they had 12... in front of the metra number. Just add a head unit to your cart taht they offer the kit for free with and then write down the part number and put it into their part # search box. ChaseME
Thanks for that info, good stuff. I'm worried now though, it looks like they don't ship to Canada. I'll poke around some more.
SeattleLegacy
crutchfield.com has the mounting kit that replaces the OE trim just like the metra. says that i'll match the other interior pieces. hmm...

ChaseME
Locally (in Canada) a car stereo shop just told me the Metra kit will be $99. YA OK!
Aryx
Nah definately worth going online for. I don't know what the price for installer.com was asking for but I got mine from autotoys.com for about $80 shipped.
CDN 2.5i
I ordered mine from http://audiooutfitter.com/store/998901.html Also picked up the antenna adapter, wiring harness, and RCAs from them too... One stop shopping :-). Saved a bundle.
ChaseME
So they shipped to Canada without issue? How much was shipping and duty in the end?
CDN 2.5i
Yes, they shipped to Canada without any issues. Shipment actually got split - I figure they drop ship. I specified USPS - that's key. I don't recall how much shipping and duty was - but it was very reasonable and well worth it. I think it was only taxes and the freight, no duty IIRC. Some of the biggest savings were on the cables - I'm running two amps so three pairs of RCAs - they've got great deals on RCA patch cords. Cruise through the site and total up what you need and compare it to what you would pay locally... I think you'll find yourself ahead going through them, particularly with the dollar being good right now.
ChaseME
So I installed this Metra kit yesterday with a new HU. Overall it's a pretty good product. I have some fitment issues though. The silve side pieces don't seem to fit up correctly anymore. I have a large gap on the drivers side where it meets the panel below the steering column. As well I hear a lot of plastic rubbing when I go over bumps. Anyone else have issues like this?
aldouse
it was a tight fit on my install.... but a couple of hammers and couple of screws made it work just nicely. -- yay for the sig! -- my garage!
dease42
I didn't have those issues... It was a little tight, but nothing a little elbow grease couldn't fix. Keep in mind it's manufactured plastic, every kit may not be exactly the same... I did have one issue, the hu is a little loose, and as I drove more and more, it started to creep out on the bottom. I can push on the bottom of the hu, and the fit gets better...I think there's a bracket in the back I'm missing...
CDN 2.5i
If it still has gaps, it's not put back together correctly. It will fit exactly how it was prior to the new front panel. Just take it back apart carefully and make sure all the different tabs/slots/clips are lined up correctly - you should have no issues with plastic rubbing noises and the like... ChaseME
I took everything apart and re-fit it all. Turns out teh brackets that sit far in the back middle were cocked. Unfortunatly I have a new issue though! The shifter trim has a pretty large gap to the stereo bezel. Seems the gummy clip stuff has really worn out. I'm thinking it might affect the fit or something. The shifter trim has been removed quite a few times so I think I screwed myself here! In any case things are still looking and sounding good: http://pages.videotron.ca/chaseme/shift.jpg
MSPRO
Here is my install. I took the stock stuff out of the MSP b4 I traded it in lol. The kit is a good color match but like posted above the texture is different. Trying to see if getting it cleared with automotive clear coat will help it http://amykdean.com/albums/Legacy-Pics-06/Suby_Interior_2.sized.jpg http://amykdean.com/albums/Legacy-Pics-06/Sub_1.sized.jpg The channels on the sides of the car are definantly an awesome place to run wires, the install took only a couple hours for everything and it looks very professional.
