CSTMIZR
Here's a link and shot of our recent attempt: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62899 (w/ "chrome step" flushing, all abs plastic filler plates, and matching texture fog bezels) This is how it should be done........... http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x215/CSTMIZR/MWFG17-1.jpg
hutru01
^^^^^ Here are some day shots (you can see the quality work of CAV aka The CSTMIZR) http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/2458/picture005yt5.jpg http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/1209/picture007ux7.jpg http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/1469/picture011sl7.jpg http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/3572/picture012wf3.jpg
SuperhawkLGT
Don't like that you can see through the grille.
RobE
It would look pretty good if he painted that support black. http://newenglandsubarus.com/
CSTMIZR
^^^You're totally right, we were planning on painting the mount when we install the B4 badge later this week (should look sweet). Superhawk, it's mesh..........of course you are going to be able to see through it. If the car had been black, the mounts would have been too, so the only reason it appears that way in the pics is b/c the car is white. Once we paint the mounts, it will be no more "see-through" than any other grill.
RobE
sweet man....make sure you take pics after that is painted too. http://newenglandsubarus.com/

hutru01
^^ That is also because you used thicker mesh.....With my car being white, the only thing I can do is paint it black.

hutru01
I would have painted my grill white, but matching Satin White Pearl is something not even professionals can do withoiut painting the hood and bumper all at the same time.
CSTMIZR
Can't see mine. Dude......................SERIOUSLY?!?! What part of "mesh is see-through" and "support painted black" don't you understand? http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x215/CSTMIZR/SHFG1.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x215/CSTMIZR/SHFG2.jpg BTW Gilleguy mesh is $50.00 for an 8in x 24in rectangle................PASS, we did the entire custom textured grill (w/ wrapped mesh), fog bezels and lower grills for barely more than that. Also, I'm not a fan of circle drilled mesh looks kinda...... meh.

hutru01
Its funny how people take the beauty of what someone else creates and points out the flaw of a project that is not even 100% done yet. I mean forget the fact that this grill is AN OEM GRILL.
SuperhawkLGT
Wow, you guys need some ritalin or something.......SERIOUSLY?!?! Settle down. Yes it is Grilleguy mesh, and yes, I did get it for free. I got two grilles worth of mesh for free, PLUS he installed it on my other grille which I sent to him as a Guinea pig. If you look on EBay, thats my car. I would buy the grille guy mesh if I had to, kicks ass over that cheap ass home depot shit anyways. Also, I did my OEM grille myself from the bondo and fiberglass to the paint and clear, all done by me. Customizr I see that you posted this a 2 pm, probabaly while sitting at work, tough job you got there, try working for a living sometime. Hutru01, POWNED? Seriously?!?! my 16 yr old doesn't even say that anymore, wait, did I click on Nasioc by mistake?? Where am I?

Where am I? +10000000 Vahkil and Superhawk are the main reason many many people on this forum have had the guts to take this on. hutru01
Superhawk: you should think twice before you put up pics and say "Can't see mine" BECAUSE YOU CAN SEE IT. You are telling us to settle down? Do you see your last post? (something about your 16 yr old kid on Nasoic????) Then you make a comment about what time someone is posting a comment? Lets face it, we all spend too much time on here..... Just admit your comment was arrogant and get over yourself.... That was what sparked this entire thing. End of story
CSTMIZR
Superhawk.................... You very much so seem to have taken the fact that you spoke without thought and that I succinctly pointed out your error, personally. With the comments you made you are dangerously close to having me do the same. This was meant to be a civil discussion by members who enjoy to work on their various grills. You have however resorted to personal insult. You have NO idea who I am, nor what I do, so keep your stupidity to yourself. Your initial comments seem to have been spawn of arrogance, and from reading your posts, you seem to be an insecure and disagreeable fellow. So, I have no further need to converse with you on this subject, or any other for that matter. Oh, and just FYI, I am an internationally renowned CHEMICAL ENGINEER, and have developed scientific works the likes of which you could not comprehend. Also, not everyone takes lunch at noon and I'm on vacation now anyway (don't know why you wouldn't have considered those possibilities before you decided to question the time at which I chose to post and follow it with a slanderous comment????). Gitster, I can see that they may have been the first to show theirs here, and that helped others here (I can appreciate that). I was simply trying to display my work when SH decided to chime in with negative, and clearly unfounded, comments, rather than applaud. Take a look at the detailed thread on my work in Exterior/Aesthetic. I think it speaks for itself and my intention on actually taking the time to post it in such detail was for the benefit of those who might wish to go a diiferent route than the status quo. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62899
TravisS
Everybody who has a mesh grill can see the support (including superhawk's). Big fricken whoop, get over it, and get this thread back on topic. Too much totally unnecessary e-peen waving going on here.
CSTMIZR
^^^Agreed, I apologize for my contribution to the tangent and would like to continue on as was (before those exchanges). We are planning on painting the support and B4 badging it tonight. We'll put up pics soon. Oh, and we have a neat idea for creating "bezels" for the lower grills too. Should be cool and we'll keep you all posted.
