mlrtime Posted February 18, 2006 Share Posted February 18, 2006 Searched, didn't find anything. This is strange. I just went to look at the car and the parking lights are on. Car is shut off and lights are set to off (verified twice) Even if they were on, they shut off when the car is off. So now my car is sitting here with the parking lights (and license light) on with no way to turn them off. I opened the door and the alarm started going off. I got the manuel out- apparently, the car has an alarm if the doors are opened, but the shock sensor completes the alarm. Supposedly my car never had a factor alarm. I installed an aftermarket alarm. The other day, somehow, a different siren started sounding. I was like, wtf?! As it turns out, I had the factory alarm on my car:icon_surp. I wasted money on an alarm, but I also got something I didn't pay for... And man was I tripping out w/ a different alarm going off on my car...and people looking at me funny. Surprised no one called the cops on me... Two months ago I bought this car with Xenon headlights where a few days later people were flickering their high beams on me along I-66 and I-495 capital beltway. I was thinking maybe I was driving too fast so I slowed down. Anyways, after picking up my friend I had a hunch maybe my tail lights were burnt out. Holy sneakers, my parking lights and license plate lights were dead. So knowing I had a half a pitcher of beer three hours ago, I prayed the cops don't pull me over. Guess what it...it started to rain and as I was close to home a unmarked car passed by me. Thank you! Well I eventually found out that the parking relay was shot. So I replaced it and a month later after changing my oil I turned off my car to see that the parking lights wouldn't turn off. I was thinking, oh sneakers it's the relay again. So I pulled another relay off from the fuse/relay box under the hood which has 7 exact relays to swap so that didn't work. I then pulled the fuse when went along day after day until I ordered another relay. For god knows why I googed "parking light doesn't turn off", I see a whole shabang result of subies, especially from NASIOC. The point of the story is i'm not a dee dee dee, but that switch is so out of sight from my daily driving, what the heck and why the heck was that placed there. No wonder, when I was reading the factory wiring schematics there were two parking lights switches! I know ohms, voltage, amperes, but a stupid switch on the column I couldn't see, now that's drama!
