Xenonk
I noticed on the USDM models in the FUSE BOX in the engine compartment has a RELAY for HIDs.. I assume that all we really need is the remaining parts of the JDM HIDs and it should be a pretty straight forward install??? if not, my other route was to order from www.understeer.com and for $300 shipped, I am not complaining. DAFTEK
Hey guys I'm new here :) I just did the HID mod too.... This is my 6th vehicle that i own and have retrofitted it to HID since 1997 and have done many cars for most of my friends, i have tried them all, best K if your into the blue light are the 6000K otherwise go for the 4300K, people don't know the facts, the higher the spectrum the lower the light output. As far as ballast, the only ballast i use are the 3rd Generation Hella. These are very strong ballast and have the igniter built in them where as other cheaper ones have them separate. GranTourer
For those that installed HID lighting, did you replace the two fuses for the headlight relays from 7.5A to 15A? Thanks.
jerami1981
has anyone had problems when installing the mcCulloch HIDS? IT seems that the spring retainer doesn't like sitting over the extra bit of cushening on the back of the bulbs, thus putting more pressure on the hinge side of the retainer than the side where it clasps and my lights seems a bit crooked as well now. Any ideas or comments on what some of you may have done to work around this, or has everyones install been smooth and problem free?
ST-EYE
The NHTSA banned sales of aftermarket HID plug n play kits on 08/15/03 This means that retailers are not allowed to sell these kits to customers in the US and resulted in manufacturers pulling their product from retailers shelves and not honoring warranties. This means replacing faulty parts will be impossible unless parts are found on eBay or the like. This is why ive done alot of research on a HID Projector retrofit. fbi012
hey guys, I finally got to install them and guess what, I cleared my headlights too. Check the pictures out. I love them, 4300k(D2S bulb) look exactly like BMW's factory HID. I had alittle hard time fitting them but not that bad. Enjoy.
