Cruisemobile2
Eventually, I had to hang up the Star Speeder3000 so here was the last shot http://i65.tinypic.com/2agonbq.jpg
Cruisemobile2
After the Star Speeder3000 was gone, it was back to business Picked up a 2015 STI steering rack. Whiteline sent me another care package to go along with the new rack. Roll Centre kit, heavy duty steering rack bushings, front strut bar, and camber bolts along with a pair of new work gloves! http://i66.tinypic.com/15dazq0.jpg
Cruisemobile2
Renner Racing Development did a phenomenal job on the install! Just trimmed the ends of the tie rods to gain a few extra mm of toe adjustment. http://i63.tinypic.com/fuothc.jpg http://i67.tinypic.com/s4t4xl.jpg What a 300 thousand mile steering rack looks like.... http://i65.tinypic.com/ifsggx.jpg
Cruisemobile2
The results on the 2015 STI steering rack is major! Is it worth it? ABSOLUTELY! The steering response is soo quick now! Definitely one of the best handling mod's i've done to date. http://i65.tinypic.com/xciweb.jpg
Cruisemobile2
Recently just rebuilt my BC Racing BR Coilovers. Front shock finally blew a seal after 75+ thousand miles. I ended up going with LGT spec shocks because I wanted to go lower in the front by an inch. http://i68.tinypic.com/fyed77.jpg Here you can see the difference in shock travel and shock size when both LGT spec shocks and OBXT spec shocks are side by side... http://i68.tinypic.com/152f9yg.jpg Edited August 30, 2018 by Cruisemobile2
Cruisemobile2
And here is the most recent pic of her. Sitting at 305+k miles on the odometer http://i63.tinypic.com/bfqdzk.jpg

Ashchetum
To clarify, you're running Oubtack-spec BC's in the rear, and Legacy ones in the front? Have you removed any of the subframe spacers? I've been convinced so far that my best move is to go full legacy setup and true legacy coils for the ride I want, but looking at your car, I'm not sure how much lower than that I REALLY want to go. Probably about the same ride height... I'd imagine you almost never bottom out. 18x8.75 +35? It's about exactly the fitment I'm shooting for. Yup, the lgt shocks are up front and obxt are still in the rear. It's very noticeable in the front with the reduced shock travel and the car feels more stable for sure with enough roll in the rear that it actually makes it a bit easier to break lose if needed. I have yet to bottom out (knock on wood) and I've hit some very hard bumps with a full load of passengers and gear during multiple road trips. I removed the rear bump stops. I did not remove the subframe spacers. I see no need to for my application and she's been doing perfectly fine for well over 80k on this setup. I think I'll copy your setup in that case. Time to email BC and ask them nicely if I can mix-match the setup like you have it. I wanted to go lower than your car at first, but after thinking about owning two cars that are unreasonably low, I am reconsidering. It would be nice not to have issues with the potholes/ally-ways in my downtown area.
unicorn_violence
amazing build! i wish i could find that n1 exhaust somewhere. it looks amazing on the outback. did you just use extended hangers to get it to fit?
wrx-auto-x
I bought your cars clone a bit over a year ago for my new daily, so I could start leaving my RSTI in the garage. Not gonna lie, your build was one of the first ones I found after I bought my DD 05 OBXT. I knew I wanted to lower and get new wheels but the info on your build helps guide my parts decisions. The car looks great, keep it up. Though I opted against coilovers and did Koni yellows in LGT housings with Swift springs, Whiteline rear links to help dial it in. Wheel and tire sizing selection is my current project. I found out the hard way that 235/50/17 tires on 17x8 +48 wheels do not fit the suspension I installed. Do you have any issues with rub running thse 18x8.75 +20 and 235/40/18 tires? I imagine you have a 2+ degrees of camber per wheel plus rolled fenders.
