  1. What exactly did you "hacked, cutted, painted" and low are you? I'm planning on 18X9.5 w/255/40-18 or 255/265/35-19. Thanks
  2. I've got FA 500s w/hyperco springs (8K front and rear), roll center kit, upper rear control arm camber bushings and I know I'm going to need spacers for the rear but I'm not sure how thick they should be. Are LGT upper rear control arms & bump stops required also or can I cut the existing bump stops shorter for the time being? The immediate goal is to get the car lowered a bit lower than stock LGT so not slammed. Anti roll bars, at least in the rear, will come later and possibly the whiteline adjustable rear toe & camber arms. Doing a COMPLETE OBXT to LGT part swap is unlikely but doing some of it in the future is possible. Any and all comments, suggestions and insights are VERY encouraged cuz knowing too much about lowering an OBXT isn't possible.
  3. Nice, casual track day. What class did you race in? What's w/804, you from Va.?
  4. How'd you get the fitment of the silver STI wheels (tire size?) and do they rub anywhere? I see you've got a now discontinued R6, I REALLY hope you take it to the track!
  5. The matched pair thing is DOPE! That's some Mecum auction type shit you got there. I've an 06 OBXT (Fortune 500s on the way, w/roll center kit, rear upper control arm camber bushings and rear LGT upper control arms yet to be bought) and I want to know about the wheel fitment. Did you use spacers for the the silver STIs and/or the TE37s, if so what thickness, size were they? What are all the specs for the TE37s? What did you have to do to get both sets wheels to fit cuz the way you got them is PERFECT? Do they rub anywhere? What spring rates are you running and hows the ride w/the 255/35s? What did you do for the front and rear camber? I don't think I need a stool sample too..... at the moment. I'm just following you well done example with, hopefully, the same AWESOME results. Thanks for AL-L-L-L the valuable info in advance.
  6. It's never overheated, I've been told the timing belt has been changed so I assume the H2O pump was changed idk about the thermostat. The car has 101400+ miles on it.
  7. 06 OBXT 5spd. I've noticed when it's HOT, 93° today, there's coolant on the ground just below the coolant overflow tank that, when cold, shows the coolant level as full. Well today I waited to see what was going on. Sure enough, a few minutes after I got home, down came the coolant from the overflow tank from the lid. I started the car and saw the coolant level in the overflow tank go down and, here's the "anomaly", I saw the upper coolant hose actually collapse like when you suck on a straw w/your finger covering the other end. So, can anyone tell what's going on w/the cooling system, is this not an "anomaly"? Thanks
  8. Update. A few days ago I went to a junk yard to get a 04 outback fuel pump which, according to a local stealership is the same pump for outbacks build from 10/04 to after 06 thinking I could make the swap to see if my fuel pump was bad. All the pumps were oval vs round so I just left in the cars. The next day bought a bottle on BG products 44K fuel additive, $23.27, and filled up with Shell V Power, $46, and the range estimate was 280 miles. WTF is going?! After about 15 miles of driving, the range estimate went UP to 290 miles! Huh? 30ish miles later, the range estimate went up to 300 miles which is where it had been. As of now, 80ish miles on the trip tick and 230 miles estimated range means 320+ miles vs the usual 340+ miles is a big improvement. I'm gonna blame it on the 44K which seems to have "cleaned" a "sticking" fuel level sending unit. If that's the case after 45+ miles, then I'm a believer & endorser of that product cuz the gas is a known quantity. I think I'm gonna repeat this process again on the next tank cuz 44K is supposed to clean away the carbon deposits in the fuel system and I've seen positive results so far so let's see where the ceiling is for $25-$30 more. Stay tuned.
  9. Hello all. I had my transmission repaired (a bolt came loose and put a hole in the trans case, gear oil all over the ground) and reinstalled a few months ago, before the repair, and it sat for about 8 months except for a weekly 2+ mile drive around the area. I was getting 340-350 miles out of a FULL tank and the range display was blank at that point. Now, out of the same FULL tank, the display says 340 miles to empty which is its normal but now I'm getting maybe 270-280 miles. Yesterday I put 4.18 gallons in a VERY low tank and the range display immediately said 90 miles to empty, 4 miles later it said 70 miles and now, 9 miles later, it says 50 miles and the gauge went from slightly above a quarter tank to a bit below a quarter tank. There's no visible fluid or residue on the ground that I've seen, no gas smell around the car, so I can't imagine, on 3 hits of acid even, WTF is going on! At the moment, the car only has 100, 035 miles on the odometer so I'm thinking about putting in a new fuel filter, strainer and, possibly, fuel pump. I'm trying like hell to avoid taking it to a stealership, cuz, STEALership. Any all comments, thoughts, suggestions, advice, prayers seances are welcome and needed! Thanks in advance
  10. I need the brain trust to suggest which new clutch to get for my 06 5spd OBXT. Thanks
