sos123 Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Mine was 1995 Ford Escort station wagon. What a piece of junk. Its Check the engine light and my girlfriend's period were on the same, very predictable schedule.
Guest rayms69 Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 1985 mustang GT with throttle body fuel injected automatic, wouldnt pull a string out of a cats ass
cdc782 Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 2003 Mazda 6s. Exhaust fumes would circulate into the cabin and the Taurus v6 leaked oil.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yoda_One Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 1975 Corvette Stingray 350. Bought it new and got rid of it in 6 months. Laughing at Oneself and with Other is good for the Soul
ammcinnis Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 1978-80 VW Rabbit Diesel. Crossing Wolf Creek Pass in southern Colorado (10,857 feet) was a notably slow and smoky adventure. On the ascent, I think we were even passed by a Peugeot! We wheezed over the summit of the pass in 2nd gear, with black diesel soot billowing behind. midas Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 My first new car. 1972 Datsun 1200. I didn't know anything about buying a car and I'm sure I paid over sticker on it. After 1 year the vinyl seats in the back were already cracking from sitting in the sun. Rode like a truck, handled like the steering wheel was just a suggestion.
15Twlight2.5 Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Saturn Ion. Forgot year but around '98-99, it was nothing to remember! Traded it for a 2000 Mustang GT. Loved it but it was my wife's car at the time and she got stuck at work in a snow/ice stom and that was the end of that. We've owned nothing but 4wd or AWD since. We both have sub's now. 15 Legacy, 13 Outback with a 15 Outback on order.
adj789 Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Mitsubishi 3000GT, tranny literally cracked in half among other things
ytqm Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 1986 Pontiac Grand Am. Horrible car. Was a POS from day 1. Sold it and 2 weeks later guy totalled it. Fitting end, glad the guy wasnt hurt.
kaopealii Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 2004 E46 325xi. BMW. As an 18 year old who just totaled his 04 Hyundai Elantra (gift) going upwards of 100mph on windy backroads.. a BMW was not the smartest next choice. The AWD and ABS systems were much safer, though! That car was also sexy AF inside and out. The only reason I say it was a bad purchase is because it made me even more of a target to cops, my insurance skyrocketed, and repairs were very costly.. forcing me to learn to do my own.
GTEASER Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 1979 Triumph Spitfire. Last year, the one with the black plastic bumper monstrosities. The car had a clutch slave that would go out every 3k miles and would randomly die for anywhere between 1 minute and 5 days. GTEASER's 2012 Legacy GT - Sold GTEASER's 2009 XTeaser - Sold GTEASER's 1992 Legacy SS - Sold

GTEASER Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 ^^^ It really only died about 10 times over the course of the year before I sold it, maybe 2000 miles. Lol! But it always started up, usually within a few minutes. GTEASER's 2012 Legacy GT - Sold GTEASER's 2009 XTeaser - Sold GTEASER's 1992 Legacy SS - Sold
FJuan Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 2005 Subaru Legacy GT......what a friggen money pit!!! My wife's balls are delicious.
waldguy Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 1983 or so Mazda 626 - Bought it in the West in 1988, and the rust was coming through. Found a parking stub from the Salty East and sold the car to a dealership -- mercy mercy -- trading up for a new 1989 626, which was a decent replacement, but it required a new muffler every August every other year.
KWG15Leg Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Tough to say. If I'm factoring in money spent for the car in regards to performance, then sadly my Legacy. Overall issues and money blown? 1997 Eclipse GSX. Complete with stickers that added +5hp.

KWG15Leg Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Oh I remember that car. I loved the look of the GSX! Replaced motor, and a TON of other stuff. Turbo went, blablabl. So much fun though.
V8lolsubie Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Pretty much every single car my old boss purchased at work was a bad choice. (Former used car lot mechanic)
laz Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 1976 Lancia. OMG! What a nightmare! Which model lancia? My brother had an early 80's. Forget the model. ---
Twistedfreedom Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 2001 Audi A6 6M with the 2.7tt. It threw codes like Chris brown threw Rhianna. Maintenance on it was worse than the twilight series. The front bumper and radiator had to come off for everything. It's the reason I own an OBDII scanner, and why I will never buy another Audi.
rodan Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Shouldn't this be in the 'other cars' forum? My worst was a C6 'Vette. Purchased it used with 50k miles. Drove it 8k miles in ~11 months, and spent $2k on parts and special tools for repairs. Labor would have been another $2k if I hadn't done the work myself. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y185/RodanAZ/Vette/DSC_7471_zps6a32c96c.jpg Numerous electrical problems due to the crap GM connectors, and generally poor quality. Cheap ass plastic interior parts that broke if you looked at them sideways. Major mechanical issues such as cam sprocket bolts coming loose. On it's 3rd water pump by 60k miles (new GM parts). PITA to work on due to packaging (and dumb design choices) - steering rack must be removed to pull balancer, A/C must be discharged to remove radiator, etc. Parts were expensive, and special tools were commonly required. When it ran, it was fast and fun. Most of the time, it was just a PITA.
