Cup holder lights

Recommended Posts

Thought Ide share some diode dynamics cup holder light. Normally $40 but I got them for $32 on a holiday sale. I really like them. Adds a nice factory looking touch. Fitment is perfect. Supplied wiring harness is perfect. Highly recommend. Enjoy

Looks awesome! Thinking about doing this myself, but I noticed on the website the options are red, blue, and multicolor. The multicolor says "RGB" what does this mean? How are the colors of the lights changed?

Looks good, which wires did you choose to hook up to?

The wiring harness was long enough to reach the clock where I tapped into for my cubby pod gauges. Tapped the same wires cause I already knew which wires were switched and ground. Black w/ yellow stripe was ground and purple was switched positive. Lights up with the rest of the interior lights.

RGB stands for Red Green Blue which are the primary colors in light. The inserts would contain all three colors and you can vary the amount of each primary color to create any color. I believe you have to buy a remote control to go along with the RGB set or use your iPhone as the remote.

The ones I bought are the red only set. Lot cheaper and simpler.

This may be the single most stupid mod to a car I've ever seen. What a complete waste.

Subaru offered cupholder lights (not rings) as a JDM option. I know it may not appear to match in the pictures or even look tacky, but the red light matches the interior quite well. Many newer more expensive cars such as the Mustang GT have cup holder ring lights stock. They are also quite useful for night driving searching for change to pay a toll.

I was curious as well so I shot them an email a week ago. Here's their reply

Hello,

We have discontinued a large portion of our acrylic lineup unfortunately. In this instance we do have our universal acrylics that would just require the size and we can get them made.

Order universals and send them dimensions for fiment. I believe the legacy specific lights had a squared end for the rear cupholder. The universals are just circles. Fine by me, I wasn't a huge fan of the right angles. . .

I may pick some of these up soon
