Leviman
Magnetic ride shocks for our car. so we can dial in for comfort or performance while driving and the computer controls it. I'm surprised no one has done this for anything really. I'm sure GM owns some patents or something.

I found some ways totailor it to the outback wagon better. Also thinking of making the next one lower with some trick features for the outback/legacy wagon... Rhitter
Looks awesome. Jealous that you have the ability to just make that. My OBXT build
WRX USA
That basket came out real nice! One that used the maximum allowable roof area, that doesn't hinder opening the back door or the moon roof, would be very desirable.
vagabond
I could also make a long version. Tested it on the XT Limited and the roof and hatch cleared well.
vagabond
That basket came out real nice! One that used the maximum allowable roof area, that doesn't hinder opening the back door or the moon roof, would be very desirable. So we started the XL version. It's the max dimensions to allow the hatch and sunroof to open. http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag47/boxerwerks/Fabrication/IMG955734_zpsstz70zzi.jpg

Flinkly
well, I already mistakenly posted this request in the outback thread, but I'd be up for a hitch duplicating what is done in AU. basically gives more carrying capacity (2" receiver, as well as mounting within the frame) and doesn't remove a sliver of ride height. you do have to punch a hole in the rear bumper though, and to install takes some time (rear lights and bumper removal). the Hayman-Reese 2010RW is the current "Standard". http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/fitting-tow-bar-aus-liberty-gt-40784.html http://www.haymanreese.com.au/parts/02010rw-443229 if it helps, I have access to a waterjet (and a machine shop, 3d printer, etc.), so I can make up pieces to facilitate prototyping (those shim plates and the two plates that mount to the back of the car for waterjet, or just have the thing 3d printed for trial fit). I can also CAD it all up and make drawings if someone else passes along dimensions. i'd even pitch in to order one over so we can duplicate, but in all honesty, it doesn't look too complicated, and MattyC took some good pictures. it almost looks like it's all 1/2" inch steel, or maybe just 3/8". still pretty beefy. Hayman-Reese states that it weighs in at ~ 42 lbs (which after making drawings, would be easy to back calculate thickness of material). * Build Thread * 26.53 MPG - 12 month Average *
vagabond
I'd be in to try one this spring if you can cut the forms. My hitch is 2" now but mounts fairly low. Its not a problem when the car is lifted but I like lowering the outback for the fairer seasons. This could be a solution both for lowered and of road applications. vagabond
They dry out on occasion. I think it's in part do to you not lubing them on a regular basis, the friction accelerates the drying and cracking.

vagabond
good to know .... also those strut spacers ,, nice ! any chance you've fabbed some up for a third gen Never tried. But if you send me top hats I could. But you would need the subframe spacers, and steering linkage, and custom studs, all, longer hardware, and extended pitch stop.... Unless you like changing axles.
