It'll probably look better with the tarp over it.

2.5L: 25/33 city/hwy, 28 combined

3.6L: 19/27 city/hwy, 22 combined

This puts the 2.5L at the top of the AWD Crossover pack, alongside the smaller Crosstrek. The Rogue AWD and CX-5 2.0L AWD are the closest, with slightly lower highway ratings (both match city and combined). There are three AWD hybrids that beat it, but not by much: Crosstrek Hybrid, Highlander Hybrid, RX 450h (the last two run about $47k).

Specs/features mostly in line with what we were expecting, based on the Legacy reveal.

A few things that are new:

  • aluminum hood
  • ventilated rear disc brakes standard
  • 4-cyl disc brakes now larger
  • hill descent control, hill start assist (X-Mode)
  • cargo area: 35.5 cubic feet (seats up), 73.3 cubic feet (seats down)
  • available power liftgate, with memory height function
  • 3.6R Limited - high-intensity-discharge low-beam headlights
  • "side curtain airbags that deploy when a rollover is imminent"
  • "cabin and exterior lights that automatically turn on when the driver approaches the car"
  • "suspension revisions for better handling and ride comfort"
  • "Subaru has revised the doorsills to enhance stability when securing items to the roof rack"
  • steering-responsive fog lights available with EyeSight
  • acoustic windshield, thicker panels, more noise-insulating foam

*Not sure if some of these already confirmed for the Legacy or not.

I'm actually quite happy with this. Granted there's no manual or turbo version, but when we finally have kids and need something bigger I bet we'll be taking a good look at it.

33mpg hwy for something this big that comes with AWD is quite an achievement...

Why must they launch everything in silver?

I really like it. The lines flow better, the options really are VERY competitive for the price, and honestly it does look pretty good for what an Outback is: a lifted wagon.

Good job! Just need an engine to put in there............... hmmmmm.... where could we find...... a turbo............ DIT preferably................ small cylinder............ damn...... I'm just lost on where SOA could get one of those to perfect this offering. Any ideas??? :iam:

It's hard to beat all the standard tech these bad boys came with now. Even the CLA250 2015 doesn't get push start button, and about twice the price of the Lexus to compete all the techs.

Keyless and Push Button are not standard on any model according to SOA specs.

BUT! Rear camera, 6.2" infotainment, bluetooth, Hill Descent, Active Grille Shutter, LED Tail Lights, and on... are all standard on all models.
