  1. OK so the unplug wire method seems to work the best and doesn't damage anything.

If I understand correcly it only controls the seatbelt so you will still get chime if door is open. :(

    No easy way around that.

Also, I have the navigation unit under the seat.

I hope it is easy to get to.

I have pulled the seat before (navigation hack so I can input while in motion)

but dont' feel like taking the seat off today.

I will try to find the plug and see if I can get to it.

    thanks!

  2. I like spark plug.com but I put in my car and the part numbers they showed weren't even close.....

    http://www.sparkplugs.com/results_app.asp?productTypeID=1&AAIA=1433177

According to sparkplugs.com the Spec B doesn't even use NGK...

    what do you think?

    ILFR7H

I searched their site and these were available for 11 and change.

This was the part number I found on that link that talked about how this was the NEW part number and LONGER LASTING and that the other part is obsolete now.

    Comments?

  3. I spotted a Silver 2005+ LGT Sedan.

It was parked at the corner of Park Drive and Sunset Blvd at the McDonalds/Big Spoon parking lot.

It looked like it hadn't been washed in about 6 weeks or so.

For that reason alone I am going to guess that it wasn't from anyone around here. I think the average wash time is under 3 weeks for members of this forum.

Other than the dirt the car was ncie. Something goig on with the driver side door. (Like it had door dings or something)

I snapped a pic with my black jack (no flash) but it's decent...

    This is Roseville/Rocklin area...

And The I PHONE DOESN'T even work on cingular's high speed 3G network (the new att)

    This means NO streaming VIDEO

    IPHONE for the loss...

I'll take my windows phone which is the smallest full qwerty phone in the world.....

and I have a slingbox pro so I can monitor the video cameras around my house as well as get live or previously recorded video straight from my cable box.

    Streaming video FTW....

  4. Sorry for the newbie question.

Best place to buy AP v2.0?

Do I run into warranty issues if I don't buy it from an authorized Cobb dealer or Cobb themselves? I know that, for example, Beltronics would not honor their warranty unless you bought the radar detector from Circuit City or other authorized dealers. Thus, all Amazon or eBay customers get screwed.

If you unmarry the AP, what happens? It doesn't render it useless, does it? Do you just re-marry it afterwards and all is well?

After buying all my COBB brand stuff from COBB I would recommend buying from ANOTHER source. They have lots of good vendors. You can check around here in the vendor tab. Do some shopping around and go with someone who treats you well and has good customer service. I've had good luck from a few. I bought my Borla CBE through a vendor on this site. I got much better response and service than COBB itself. Cobb eventually gets the job done but because of their size and amount of people they deal with they were very slow to respond.

If you buy from Ebay or private party I would be weary. If you get an AP that is still married it will not work for you.

But most of the vendors around here should work fine.

And yes you can marry and re-marry whenever you want.

For example if you ever need to take your car into the dealer I would unmarry befor you leave your car with them.

Often times they will reset or reflash your ECU without mentioning to you. It might not even be related to the service you're getting but they do it just in case your car needs it. :)

Well if you have a married AP it will no longer work unless you send everything back to COBB including your ECU.

But as long as you unmarry and marry all is good!!

Hope that answered all your questions...

    have fun!

  5. Thanks for checking Opie.

I guess I can go bug the guy at the parts counter and see if he can get his hands on this myster bracket to work with my passenger side.

Don't really want to fab something myself and velcro doesn't sound as secure.

    Thanks!

No parts are shown for the gauge pack individually, it only lists it as a complete kit which is P/N: H5010AG000

OK, there is no Legacy or Outback subwoofer that has ever gone under the passenger seat (This according to Subaru). The only thing they might be doing is installing a Forester subwoofer (they install under the passenger seat).

    P/N: H630SSA200

  6. [quote=Opie

That is a tough one...in the parts lookup it only shows the bracket to mount the rear subwoofer in a wagon...I'll have to look in the Accesories Parts Book tomorrow, some of the parts in that book aren't shown in the lookup program (on the PC).

I appreciate the help OPIE..looking forward to hearing from you later....

  7. Opie,

I thought I'd throw you a tough one.

I'm looking for the passenger side bracket to mount the Subwoofer on my 2006 Spec B.

The 2006 Outback 3.0R VDC Limited Wagon came standard with navigation. If you wanted a subwoofer it used passenger side bracket since they also have the DVD player under the driver seat.

They never made it a part number for the spec b because they only made 500. Maybe this year with the spec b becoming a tirm level they have the part number.

But I have a buddy on this forum who had it installed when he bought his 06 spec b last year and they told him they used the bracket from the Outback.

Hope you can help....also if you have a typical dealer list price that would help.

    Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. FUNNY STORY

Last week I was driving down Sunrise Blvd between cirby and doublas blvd in Roseville, CA.

Two WRX's pulled up next to me at an intersection and we stayed fairly close for a couple of lights. The silver WRX gave the thumbs up sign and was very friendly but then there was a black wrx with an STI wing. (Not sure if it was an STI)

Then the driver began to show me the most annoying thing I've ever seen. He began to violently jerk his car back and forth with the throttle which also gave him the desired effect of shooting out a 6" flame form his muffler tip.

The flame was bad enough. Some people think it's actually a cool effect. I'm not really a fan of things that don't perform a real function but that's personal preferene. The funny part was the constant high throttle and let off required to produce this flame that was done intentionally time and time again. It was non-stop for about a mile so I would estimate 20-25 times. It started happening when I was behind him so he was trying to show me he could fart flames.

I wasn't entirely impressed and I guess I showed that when I blew by him after the next opportunity.

Anyone know this guy with the black WRX flame shooter?

  9. Three LGT sedan's seen yesterday (9/17) on US50 between Placerville and Sacramento, between 1 and 2pm-ish.

    1) ABP w/ wing and tint, east-bound nearing Placerville

    2) OBP - looked stock, west-bound somewhere in the middle

    3) SWP heavily modded, gold wheels, west-bound approaching Sac.

I was in my Mustang convertible rental car, out there on vacation! I had flown into SF then driven up to Reno to visit a friend, then took the scenic route back past Tahoe, down the 50, and then on 160 on top of the levee. GREAT FUN all around!

Are those initials the colors you are referring to?

  10. 2005 2.5I Blue with Braw.

    65-85 year old male driver.

Spotted driving on East Roseville Parkway on Tuesday Evening.

I was on my way to the Maita Subaru Dealership to buy Engine Cover pins.

    Yeah for me!

I know it is nothing special but sightings are few and far between!!!

Oh can I add that a new EVO came up on me last night. Before we got to the first red light he bolted in front of me and made a right turn into a parking lot.:icon_bigg

  11. It's ~1 hour 40 mins. from Sacramento (in Hayward). I get most of my installs done at LIC Motorsports in Novato, but I go to Mike for tuning. Also, read what TSi+WRX said.

    -Mike-

Where is Navaot? I can't recall and I'm too lazy to look at the big map!

I went to hayward 8 times last month. WOW ... that was about 30-40 hours spent just driving to and from Hayward..... I could have dropped in... maybe next time.

thanks for the great info EVERYONE...

  12. Mike,

Thanks for the info. How far from Sacramento do you think Gruppe-S is?

    Sounds like an honest place.

That was my thinking... unless I'm lacking some serious extra tune I think I'd be fine with Cobb's map. I'm not trying to squeeze every last drop out of my car but I think Stage 2 will have no complaints from me in terms of HP and torque! :)

Also the more you squeeze I'm sure the more you work the engine.....

I need about 150k miles in the next 5 years. :)

  13. Question Two:

I'm using the Cobb Stage 2 91 Octane CA base map.

I have just comleted installing Cobb UP, Copp DP w/ hfc, Borla TBE system.

According to Cobb the stage 2 requirement is only a catback exhaust.

Am I missing some huge potential performance by not getting a custom tune from one of the vendors on this forum?

Why wouldn't cobb have another map that matches more for their equipment.

Do my extra components fall within guidelines of Stage 2?

    Thanks
