  1. Usually posted here, so sub to this thread: Last weekend I just texted everyone's phone numbers directly, so that's the one time it wasn't posted. Most of us are down to drive, and don't usually limit ourselves to one small geographic area of the state, so it may be hard for you to join if you don't like the miles. Some drives are 1.5hrs. Others are a half-days adventure. I put them together all over the western side from the Olympics, to Mt. St. Helens, to Sedro-Wooley, and everywhere in between (Monroe, Redmond, Tacoma, Auburn, Orting, Enumclaw, Snoqualmie, etc.). We actually started in Parkland, but finished in Orting. I'll be sure to tag y'all next time, especially now that I know y'all are local. I won't put anything together this weekend, as l have autocross events Saturday and Sunday, but if y'all are interested in coming out and having fun for $50 + gas, then I'll drop you a link and coordinate with you to see you on Sunday. @boxkita is signed up to be a volunteer and will run in the afternoon if he goes on Saturday. A couple other Porsche friends will be there too.
  2. No, no. The question to ask is how did the Z keep up with the Leggys? I have worked very intimately with Z cars. More notably, the Z32s and Z33s. I saw a handful of Z34s come in. And the shop car was even a 370z Nismo, getting a prototype TT kit from one of the major turbocharger manufacturers. But this one made me look back at it, and I don't even own it. It was so clean. 40K miles. KW coilovers. SPL parts underneath. Brembos. Factory Rays wrapped in RE-71r s with H&R wheel spacers to add a chefs kiss the the fitment. A tame Invidia Q300. It was a pretty car to be chased by through the hills.
  3. Everyone is posting such wonderful things they've done, today. I figured I'd share too. Went on a drive with @boxkita, @Captain Redbeard, and another friend this morning down to Elbe and back up to Orting.
  4. That turbo setup is going to be so, so sweet! I can hear it already.
  5. Big bummer! Unfortunately, I still prefer the PFF7s over the Raijins on my platform.
  6. You're right! Fortunately these wheels are only for HPDE use, so I'm not to picky. If I liked the gravels more than I would absolutely trade you, but I do like the look of the PFF7s more. Do you have any Prodive GC-010e s or GC-010g s you would be willing to trade?
  7. Did you smoke test it from the turbo inlet the first time around as well?
  8. Let us know the results pf the smoke test. My culprits were the intake gaskets between the risers and manifold, and/or the metal gaskets between the risers and engine block. All were replaced when I performed my recent swap, and I have no more RPM dips.
  9. The longer there on the car, the more I like them. I wish the offset was a little more filling for the Outback arches. They look very sunk in at most angles. They're definitely a looker unmounted!
  10. I'm thinking the RPM drop when coming to a stop is a vacuum leak. Replacing gaskets/seals and hoses solved this issue for me. Did you skip replacing any of these on the new EJ20?
  11. As mentioned earlier, in the corresponding thread, I received my car back a couple Saturdays ago. The mystery issue has yet to reveal itself, although we have a few suspicions. BORING. Onto the fun stuff! I mounted and balanced Falken Azenis 615K+s on @shralp's Prodrives, packed the car, and set out for my first HPDE —finally. After just under a year of incessantly clawing my way to a point with the car that I feel safe going 110% in a closed course environment, I was able to attend Porsche Club of America's Autocross event #9 at Bremerton Motorsports Park. I received some great instruction on the fundamentals, from some stand-up instructors who recognized good habits and bad ones from when they were coming up. They humbled themselves before pouring into me, and proceeded to offer a ride along in their own cars. Met a bunch of awesome people. Some novices, and others well-seasoned. 5 timed runs, and 4 fun runs – all in the hot afternoon. I could really use an oil cooler. IMG_4223.MOV A lot of the older guys were very happy to see the wagon out. One took a couple of videos and pictures of my car. I helped him option-out his future 3rd gen Outback, as he missed his previous 3rd gen. I was his push over the edge, and I'm glad to say this was only a bonus to the relationship made this day. At this point I'm thinking we just trade because he has a 987 Cayman S in almost the exact spec I'd want mine, on the OZs (you know the ones) that I would also like for it. I saw in person, and sat in, a GRFour for the first time! This was significant, because it's the only car I've ever wanted to buy new, and put some serious thought into how I might make this happen since it was rumored after the announcement of the GR Yaris. A year and a half later, when the GRFour was confirmed, I went to the nearest dealer to inquire about allotments and possibly put down a deposit. I ultimately decided against. Additionally, I threw my keys to another younger guy who'd shown a bunch of interest in my car throughout the day, and told him to go all-out. Unexpectedly, he returned his keys to his GR86 and said the same. Checked that box!
  12. This would most closely describe my issues, and so I recon it'd be my issue. I'll be looking into testing the sensor and learning more about how they might fail (mine does have 195K miles on it, so that could be reason enough). I'll also probably start keeping my spare sensors on me, until I decide to lean forward on replacing the current one.
  13. If the crank angle sensor failed, albeit temporarily since it started right up in the next few days, would this cause fuel delivery issues? Asked another way, would the lack of crank angle sensor tell the ECU to not send fuel, or the amount of fuel needed, to start the engine and drive it?
  14. Stowing this knowledge away for the next time. Thanks Mike!
  15. This makes two of us. I changed the fuel filter on the side of the interstate, and attempted to start the car later in the evening after it had a chance to fully cool.
  16. Welp! I received the car back via a car transporter two weekends ago. After three weeks in the dealers possession, I was sick of it just sitting there not being tended to, so I shipped it back up to WA. One week in, the techs went out to the car and it fired right up. They didn't bother to look into it any further, even after I explained to them a second time the exact issues I knew I was having, and the suspected issues. I requested a simple fuel pressure reading at the rails, and a few gallons of gas for them to test drive the vehicle. None of the above was provided, and the car subsequently sat for two more weeks before it was loaded onto a trailer. Very frustrating experience! The positives are: the dealership paid the bill, they honored my request to not wash the car, and they provided relatively safe harbor for the car for three weeks. The negatives are: the issue is IT'S STILL A MYSTERY! I'm out $2500 for this elusive issue. I've put a 1500+ miles on it in the last two weeks with nothing showing cause for concern, and now I'm scared drive it out of state. Can anyone add anything to what's already been discussed in this thread? Possible causes? Blind-spots in analysis? It was not mentioned earlier, and it's not insignificant, but it was an average of 101*F from early afternoon to late afternoon the day I was stranded. I was driving between 70-80mph for over 8hrs in total before the car quit on me. It was also given a 15min rest every 4hrs, at a fuel stop. Coolant temp was between 194-212*F (90-100*C), and oil temp between 230-245*F (110-118*C).
  17. Puttin' in work! Love to see it. Looking forward to seeing what you got on the Auctions.
  18. *intensity increasing as we all are patiently waiting for the same answer* 👁👁
  19. @Code I used Pristmatic Powders for my wheels. Very happy with the finish and it's durability! Different heat then what the calipers see, but this is my experience with PC.
  20. Nah, I've been procrastinating. I have yet to make an formal invitation. As a running joke, what says I can't recycle the previous two years' poster?
  21. TONIGHT!!! Last minute invite. Wagon Wednesday 5-7:30pm MotoFish Studio: 15230 NE 92nd St, Redmond, WA 98052 @ckwaters and myself will be there. Tagging for a last minute invitation: @Gex @boxkita @TMBLKDG @silverton
