  1. With the MT ROM the Er codes went away. I think just loaded a ROM that didn’t have the CC update (there was a recall) or that it is a brake switch issue AT to MT. The neutral switch is wired and works correctly. It doesn’t bother me so I’m not inclined to troubleshoot.
  2. Thanks but I’d have no need to run the AT ROM again. With the 08 being canbus the arduino makes sense. The 05 isn’t full canbus, the cruise would work if I cared to fix it but I’ve never used the cruise in this vehicle. The 6MT is great, I will have some comparison from AT to MT at the end of the month to see if there is a difference on the dyno.
  3. As long as the ECU has the AT ROM the vehicle will continue to try and communicate with the TCU and think the car is an auto. Flex fuel is not available for the AT and I wanted to be able to run flex (really just a failsafe mode for E60 and lower). The pin you are talking about in the ECU made no difference, I did try that.
  4. Geez I forgot all about this thread. Finished up the swap, everything went pretty smoothly overall. Wiring was pretty minor, it was so long ago I barely remember what we did, I think it was just the clutch switch and reverse lights. Once we flashed the manual ROM we were able to start the car and test everything. The speed sensors both shit out so I ended up having to replace those as well as the front wheel bearings, and my cruise doesn’t work (I figured out the problem, I just don’t care). After the swap the clutch I had immediately took a shit so we had to replace it. The 6MT is great, the wagon is an absolute blast to drive, although I haven’t had it out in months, it’s been sitting on my quickjack for awhile while I do brakes, rear control arms and address a leaky diff.
  5. I wish I could pick this up but your price (which is low IMO) is twice what I can swing. Good luck with sale, lovely wagon
  6. Getting closer. Everything is pulled from the donor car and I sourced the rest of the parts I needed including a set of Spec B front/rear axles (donor was missing rears) and we discovered the reverse lockout cable on the donor was junk when we pulled the trans. Also picked up a 15+ STI rack and a set of aluminum control arms to swap while were at it. Hoping to start Thanksgiving week, congestion in the shop is what is preventing us from moving forward. Got an updated tune for when we unmarry the AP and Pretty sure I have the wiring piece figured out, but time will tell with that. The biggest issue I have is transporting it. We are getting into winter blends here and if E content drops too low she won’t be going anywhere with my 10:1 CR.
  7. The donor already had the trans swap done, which is why I am considering it. I appreciate the insight on the ROM ID, I did know see that in the research I had done, thank you very much! I just picked up a clutch, and am grabbing axles this weekend and I'll be able to get started.
  8. Due to a lucky coincidence I am planning swapping a Spec B 6MT into my 2005 5EAT wagon and need some help. A few things first: I know this is difficult and I should just by a 5MT wagon - NOPE I have searched and searched and am finding bits and pieces of the info I need, hopefully one of you reading this can help me. So far, I have: A 2005 Legacy GT MT donor with all applicable parts (too long to list them all) What I am trying to determine is if I can swap all components and flash a manual ROM onto the auto ecu. From what I understand it can, and has been done. I don't need cruise control so losing that isn't an issue. Also, I had stumbled upon the pin connector diagram and what needs to be changed, but I cannot find it for the life of me. Please help!
  9. How soon do you need a trans? Im swapping mine this winter and I’m going to have my 5EAT with a Hexmod VB upgrade, and Mishimoto transcooler for sale soon. It may or may not come with an aluminum driveshaft from the Driveshaft shop as well. Let me know. I’m Northern IL so not too far from you.
  10. Very similar to my build - interested to see your results! My 5EAT is holding up with E85, I have a Mishimoto trans cooler with a bypass thermostat. I'm sure it will need replacing eventually, everything else has
  11. Installed a transmission cooler and thermostat when I replaced my radiator. Noob question - which line is the flow from the transmission and which is the flow from the radiator? I have read the forum back and forth, and have looked at parts diagrams but the information is not clear - some individuals claim it is the line closest to the engine, other say it is the line closest to the radiator. I have identified which line feeds the filter, and if I understand correctly the flow goes from 5EAT->filter->radiator->5EAT. Any help is appreciated. PS - I mounted the thermostat behind the bumper on the drivers side, as recommended by another LGT.com member and it fit like a charm!
