  1. If you put the body spacers you removed under this braket you should be able to bolt it up Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  2. I posted a question on the arduino forums to see if they can help. It looks like the information going to the display comes through the green wire from the "Body Integrated Unit". Witch is a secondary computer that controls all electrical stuff not related to engine operations. I'm wondering if it would be possible to splice an arduino in that wire to take the signal coming from the BIU and add into it the code for ethanol content so once it reaches the display it thinks ethanol content came from the computer as well Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  3. I got a YouTube channel, so I'll be filming everything too. I got an arduino and some other bits coming in the mail as well Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  4. So I did a little more digging. Im trying to find a manuel for the screen, im probably looking in the wrong spot for how to do this because in all reality it will probably need a new screen. Regardless the stock display is not an lcd screen it is a vfd (vacuum fluorescent display). On the back of the vfd it says Futaba which is the brand, and 7-MT-260GIN and below that it says 8D12. I've tried finding information on this screen and I can't seem to find anything. Im thinking to do what I want with it I would need to find an lcd screen and wire it into an arduino to perform the functions needed. But if possible I would like to find out were to connect signal from the arduino to the oem display so that it can incorporate the ethanol content into it. If anyone knows of any forums that specializes in this sort of thing lmk and ill post this topic on there as well Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  5. There are 6 wires going into it so I imagine that the circuit board is its own computer and just needs a power and ground, but one of those wires has to be a signal wire to take the information about mpg from the ecu, all the other stuff it displays can be self contained except for maybe the temperature Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  6. So the lcd screen is 100mm x 20mm As seen by the photos there are two groups of three prongs on the top of the screen On the bottom there ar the same two groups of three prongs plus two groups of 13 prongs. And the little light is to light up the buttons for the brightness and display on the left of the screen Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  7. So my car is a 2005 but the clock may be from a 2006 I can't remember. Did you want the dimensions of the screen or the whole unit? On another note, if you have romraider you can apply a patch to your ecu that allows you to change the multiplier for the mpg calculator so that your mpg is correct with bigger injectors. If you need more info on this just lmk Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  8. Here's some pics of the circuit board if anyone knows what all of this means Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  9. I dont even know if this is possible or not, but it would be cool if it is. I am doing an e85 conversion, and I'm wiring up my own Arduino to read out the ethanol content from the sensor via blue tooth. I was also wanting to wire up a small lcd screen to read out in the car but I don't know anywhere to mount it where it will look good. But I had an idea and I'm wondering if anyone knows if its possible or how to do it. My idea is that I'm wondering if I can change one of the parameters in the clock under the cubby to read out ethanol content. I have a spare clock circuit board I can play around with, but I don't know if there would be any way to connect the two. If anyone has any ideas let me know, thanks.
  10. I'll have to look at the exhaust routing to see how or if a 3 inch y would be doable. I feel like there are 3inch aftermarket exhaust, or are most of them 2.5 Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  11. They did but then removed it two months later Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  12. Its not a daily, I mainly want to switch for the cooler temps for safety, I do my own tuning though so ill start with e70 Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks thats the answer I was looking for. Im not too worried about legality though. Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  14. I get that it will still be illegal, but the only time I've seen people get impounded is when they are a d*** to the cop. They usually just give you a state ref knowing that most people will just sell there car out of state. I saved all of my stock parts incase I do get state ref and need to smog it. I just don't want them to see no cat and just automatically impound it because its federally illegal, and thats the protocol. But in all reality its a station wagon and its probably not going to get that kind of attention from law enforcement like a wrx would Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  15. So its looking like I should probably get both a cat and a resonator. I thought maybe the cat would tone down some of the raspyness. I like how the car in this video sounds with the resonator. It just takes out all the crackling and noise and makes it a pure tone. Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  16. So I'm trying to figure out the components I need to make my cat back exhaust. Right now I have a 3 inch catless downpipe and stock cat back. My initial plan was to have 3 inch catless downpipe that goes to a 3inch vibrant ultra quiet resonator, split into two 3 inch pipes and have two 3 inch vibrant mufflers. I live in Cali so running no cats is sketchy, and I thought if I got pulled over and they found out I got no cat I would just get a state ref and I would put the car back to stock, no big deal. I recently found out that no cats if federaly illegal meaning they can impound my car indefinitely so I definitely am going to weld a cat into my downpipe. I'm wondering if by putting a cat in will it act as a sort of resonator so I can just get a cat and two mufflers, instead of a cat, resonator, and two mufflers. Or am I going to still need a resonator to achieve my desired sound? Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  17. I've definitely spun it a few times, but the new tires definitely made it better. I have bf goodrich g force comp 2 a/s, and they are really sticky for an a/s for $130. After I get them warm doing some canyons I can here the tires sticking to the ground like I'm on a drag strip. Im probably not going to upgrade wheels and tires until my car is mechanically done, and were i want it Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  18. I got the stock tire size right now, and all my stuff is poly and I'm on bc coilovers. When I grab the roof rack and pull the car back and forth the only movement I see is in the tires. I figure once I have money to upgrade it will feel alot better Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  19. I like your idea that the lower center of gravity will make it handle better. As far as the rear end feeling at high speeds I do not experience that. I installed a whiteline rear swaybar and drove it like that for a while, then I made those sway bar braces and it actually made the car feel like it had more direct steering. The difference may just be because the outback is a wagon so its got more weight to throw around than a lgt. I've also noticed that your tire sidewall can play a big part in your body roll. Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  20. The brakets, or caliper conversions in general? Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  21. Maybe if it was a racecar, $7 a Gallon is a lot for a street car, when I can make whatever comes out of the pump work Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  22. I sent them an email, ill post there response here when I hear back. Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  23. I just use romraider, but I'm going to play around with a Bluetooth arduino and wire it to a lcd display, and I'll be able to use an app on my phone to read the ethanol content. I know you can wire into tgv but mine are being used for wideband and fuel pressure. I'm just trying to find out if I should make an e50 base tune or if I can make an e70 tune if that is the lowest supplied in my area. Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  24. I'm in the process of converting my 2005 subaru obxt to an ethanol blend. From the info I have gathered so far, e85 is regulated to be between 51% and 83% depending on the climate and time of year. Given that san diego doesn't have the same cold weather issues as say Colorado for example there isn't a need for 51% ethanol in winter like there is in colder climates. All the info I can find about actual ethanol content is from 2013 and earlier where the regulation was 70 to 85%. So that info isn't very helpful now. I'm wondering if anyone who lives in the San Diego area can tell me what is the lowest actual ethanol content they have seen. I speculate it may not go below e70, but thats just speculation. Hopefully there is someone on this forum who can help answer my question. Thanks Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
  25. I'm taking the build one step at a time, im eventually going to upgrade to a blouch 1.5xtr twin scroll. My heads have Brian Crower 272 cams, BC valves, and double valve springs, with titanium retainers. I switched to a b25 head that uses the solid buckets instead of the shimed buckets, which are better for higher rpm. So the heads are good for it, how often will I rev it out to 8000? Not to often but its there if I need it. I do my own tuning, and im running 18psi right now with stock intercooler, but my timing is way low, so it doesn't knock. Im upgrading to a grimmspeed tmic and switching over to ethanol so the car will be safer at those levels. After that im going to fabricate a cai, and cat back, then save up some dough and buy the turbo and header, and modify my downpipe for twin scroll. Then in theory it will be done and I can run up to 25psi and hold 20 to redline, from what I've seen others doing. I think I'll just stick with the motul for now, until I can find a more convenient alternative. I was just concerned my idle pressure was a little low Sent from my SM-G770U1 using Tapatalk
