Mirror mounting radar detector
Stuff replied to ojelomraM's topic in Seventh Generation Legacy (2020 - )
There were PDFs on eBay for sale where they downloaded all of the STIS web pages. Subaru has separate diagrams for each system so no one place to see all of the wiring. -
New software installed at dealer for 21 XT

For those who had the upgrade done at the dealer, did they put the sticker on the radiator bracket showing it? -

For me the pedal lags some times but other times it is overly sensitive. The inconsistency makes everything worse. If you really want to feel strange lurches hit the gas when the car is braking from ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) which it does when a car slows in front of you to make a turn. I've done the pedal learning procedure and it helped for a while but didn't last. -

I don't find the startup too rough. The ASS can be worse. I too get the chirp, usually shortly after a cold start and going from reverse to drive. This adds to the annoyance of the strange delay of putting in reverse and nothing happening for a moment. Other things that bug me are the inconsistencies. Will the passenger grabbing the handle unlock all doors or not? Will the car recognize me? Which settings will be applied to seating and temperatures? Will the head unit boot up quickly or will I have to wait? Why did the screen go black? Why do I have to constantly adjust the radio volume? If I hit a button will it take? Why do I have to hit so many buttons to turn the seat heaters off? Will the AVH button work today? Will AVH engage at this stop? Will ASS kick in at this stop? Why did ASS not last longer? Why is the accelerator pedal so non-linear? Why did the CVT pick that gear? How can it tell me to stay in my lane when it won't let me use auto-steer with cruise? Why is it beeping that it can't see lines when normal driving? -
Differences between 2020 and 2021 model?
Stuff replied to bms231's topic in Seventh Generation Legacy (2020 - )
They juggled some options. Adaptive headlights now on all models. Now if the front passenger doesn't buckle up there will be a chime alert. They added rear passenger sensors/seat belt sensors/reminders. The hardware for the display computer has a different part number and software but no one knows what the difference is. -

In case you missed it there is new software to put a auto start/stop toggle button on the main screen: https://www.subaruoutback.org/threads/2020-outback-software-gigathread.517684/page-183#post-6046870 Supposedly Subaru will be contacting everyone to have the dealership do the install. Those who can't wait can find the files and instructions in that thread.

From what I can figure out the fob determines where the seat goes when you open the door. Then the retract on entry option causes the seat to go back a bit further (if not mostly back already). And finally the driver recognition will move the seat once you get in and close the door. Note that if you are having a hard time squeezing in when the auto positioning isn't working then try setting one of the door preset buttons before sitting down. Try this video: He mentions there are 8 places where the seat positions can be saved but he only had one fob to count.
-
You need to use a different fob than your spouse. Then save your seating position to it, not your profile. Subaru really made this complicated.
-
If the broken part keeps breaking then it is likely something else that is causing it. May even be the seat frame is bad and needs replaced. Keep on pushing the dealership. Ask them to escalate to regional or national.

Anybody compared their speed with a GPS?
Stuff replied to Mitaine's topic in Seventh Generation Legacy (2020 - )
I'm more concerned that the digital speed in the middle doesn't match the analog gauge on the right. -

No. You need to train yourself. -
Waiting on an XT Touring Legacy?
Stuff replied to hkshooter's topic in Seventh Generation Legacy (2020 - )
Supply is still good at the moment, relatively speaking. Maybe something with your area? Searching autotrader.com shows 140 2021 Legacy XT's (most "on order") and 70 2020s. I remember looking last year and only seeing 60. -
Waiting on an XT Touring Legacy?
Stuff replied to hkshooter's topic in Seventh Generation Legacy (2020 - )
Was this within the last few weeks? The same turbo is used in Outback and there are 1000+ 2021s showing on web sites along with a few Legacys. -
Install time is not consistent which is concerning. On 502 the previous map update took around half an hour. On 504 this map update took over an hour for the car to install.

I thought that they recommend not having a case if you are going to charge wirelessly? My phone gets hot regardless of which wireless charger I use but it does seem to not follow any pattern as sometimes it stays cool.

2020 Legacy beeping every 30 seconds. What's up?
Stuff replied to henryf's topic in Seventh Generation Legacy (2020 - )
Make sure 2nd key fob is on other side of house. Headlight switch on auto or off? Parking brake applied? Put car in Park before shutting off ignition. I've found using the accessory position can do odd things - need to start the engine to clear. -
Low front end scraping ground on inclines
Stuff replied to milkatz's topic in Seventh Generation Legacy (2020 - )
Check with your dealer to see if something is wrong. Otherwise my Legacy has more ground clearance than most other cars. If you are coming from a truck you do need to learn to drive in a more conservative manner. You are supposed to slow down entering a driveway. -
Hand motion door unlock both doors
Stuff replied to leechap's topic in Seventh Generation Legacy (2020 - )
Yes, that was supposed to work but only did like once for me. I got tired of being yelled at to open the door so press the fob button. -
Hand motion door unlock both doors
Stuff replied to leechap's topic in Seventh Generation Legacy (2020 - )
I gave up trying to figure that out. Use the fob instead if need to unlock all doors.
